Interview in El Salvador

Hi all

Quick question. My wife has her interview set for June 22, which is about 2.5 weeks away. From what I understand, there are two interviews, about a week apart.

My question is can the Salvadorian Embassy reject my wife, saying we need a co-sponsor? We cleared the U.S and were above the poverty guidelines, but I have read reviews on here saying that the wife was rejected because they said we needed a co-sponsor. We are about 5-6k over the poverty guidelines? Please advise asap!!!

Your income must match that which is required by the DHS vis a vis the size of your household.

Right, I understand that. But even if I am OVER the guidelines, can the embassy still say I need to have a co-sponsor..I read a few reviews that happened to a few people..

Not if you support the I-864 with your tax returns. they will not, most likely. Just because you don't have a 'job' does not mean you can't have an income. However, for it to be taken into consideration it must match that which is one your tax returns.

Ok, well, I have sent all of that stuff to my wife in El Salvador. She has all the supporting documents that she needs. I'm hoping we dont run into the same problem others have in the past..

Please keep us updated about how it goes and whether or not she has 2 interviews. I thought that I read somewhere that they had stopped doing 2 interviews, but I'd love to know for sure. I'd love to go down there for my fiance's interview (even if they won't let me in) but I'll probably be in school again at that point and can't take off a lot of time!

Please keep us updated about how it goes and whether or not she has 2 interviews. I thought that I read somewhere that they had stopped doing 2 interviews, but I'd love to know for sure. I'd love to go down there for my fiance's interview (even if they won't let me in) but I'll probably be in school again at that point and can't take off a lot of time!

Well, apparently, we only have to do 1. My wife knows someone in the embassy and they said that they are only doing one....interview is june 22 at 730a! im taking the day off!

Do you mean they are only doing one as a rule, or because she's got an in at the embassy?

Are you heading down there or just taking the day off so you're not distracted at work? I don't think I could spend the day working on interview day either!
