Hello Friends!

Have a question guys, I have emailed NVC 2 weeks ago regarding change of Consulate, after a week i got reply from NVC that send us inquiry again with inquirer name & NVC case number BLA BLA i have sent it last week. Today i have got reply from NVC again saying:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: LNDxxxxxxxxxx filed by ABC on behalf of XYZ.

The correspondence submitted is currently under review. An appropriate action will be taken once this review is completed.

( is this a serious issue) to change the consulate i have send them my Passport copy and national ID card. Please help me with that, does this process delay my visa interview?

Sir/Madam

Anytime the counsolate is asked to change something once it is in process, it will delay the process. They have a que System when something comes in a process is started and if you want to change the process.... YES it will take additional time for further review and necessary things that need to be done. If you have already sent in the letter to change the consulate, then let it processed and see what comes of it. Maybe it might be as simple as just mailing it to the other consulate as you had requested. But generally when forms are submitted and are dispursed in the government sector its really hard to track down to make changes.

anyways good luck!

It took about 2 months to get the consulate changed for us, but our case isn't complete yet and yes it was at the NVC at the time we requested the change.

It shouldn't take longer than that I think.

Btw, if you don't mind me asking, are you changing your consulate from London to Islamabad? Because that's what we did.

Yes i use to live in London, now i moved to Karachi but US Consulate Karachi don't deal with Immigrant visas, so i request NVC to change my Consulate from LONDON to ISLAMABAD. Pearls i have already send them my passport copy and CNIC copies as per NVC request and yesterday they replied ' My case is under review ,An appropriate action will be taken once this review is completed.'

Now whats next? I am expecting my interview by Oct 2012( does this take more then that)???What have u done when u change Consulate?

Thanks in Advance:)

Well our case is not complete so my husband did not have to send in copy of the passport etc. My lawyer took care of it so I am not too sure of the details, sorry. All I know is that I didn't send any documents, just filed a request for a change and it was done within 2 months. Hopefully it will not that take long for you either. Goodluck!
