It's back http://canadadayacrossamerica.com/ Sign up and host a party or find one near you its pretty cool.

This will be my 3rd year Hosting a party. The first year no one showed but it was still fun getting my package from the Embassy. The second year I got one email. It turns out there was a Canadian just a few blocks away. We are now great friends and see them often. Makes living here even better cause we can relate to all the weird stuff.

Anyways if you want to meet some Canadians in your area this could be a great time to do it. Even if nobody shows you get some cool goodies.

I got canvas bags, t-shirt, bottle openers, banners, balloons, Tim hortons coffee, steel water bottle, insulated holders for your beer, little tooth pick with the Canada flag all connect2canada theme or the Canada flag, well I can't think of the other stuff. They seem to change a little bit each year so you really never know. My kids love it.

That's amazing! I'd already told Trav we're doing something for Canada Day, so this is perfect :D:dance:

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).
NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

05/09/2012 - medical in Toronto - passed!
05/22/2012 - interview - passed!
05/25/2012 - visa in hand!!! biggrin.png
06/09/2012 - POE @ YWG (Winnipeg Int'l Airport)

Removal of Conditions submitted March 24, 2014, received March 26, 2014

"RFE" for page 3 of application received, date March 27, 2014. Package re-submitted with all papers re-attached.

04/07/2014 - NOA1 Date

05/07/2014 - Biometrics in Charlotte, NC

11/05/2014 - APPROVED! Citizenship in 5 months!

I imagine they will be sitting around with flags and eating that disgusting poutine stuff and watching Bob and Doug MacKenzie reruns ha ha...

Why?--it isn't the Warlord family reunion!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

That is so cool! I'm actually hosting a pre-Canada Day party for friends and another canadian who's in the same boat as me. (Day before because people have plans the day of... boo!) But my issue with signing up for that is I don't want my address displayed, y'know? Bummed that there isn't a party closer to Orange County.

But regardless, I'm excited. Hubby's doing a montreal-seasoned tri-tip and I'm ordering squeaky cheese for poutine. XD

If you click on one of the flags it will just show you the street name no house# and city etc. You can plan something and list a park as the party place maybe.
