I checked again my status on the USCIS website, and now they sent another RFE... anyone knows why they do that?... I sent all the freaking information they asked... :ranting:

just two days ago it said my case was the National benefit center and that I just had to wait 60 days for a decision and now the are asking for more stuff... I mean, I know I have to wait to see the paper to find out what they want, but does it mean my case is not at at NBC anymore??... I didn't make any mistakes or forgot to send any papers, the first RFE was cuz I didn't attached the W2's... anyone had same experience before?....

I've been reading about other people's RFE and I've seen they have different colors for them... the first one I got was pink... does the color mean anything? :help:

I actually have no idea what the colors of the RFE mean, so hopefully someone comes by with an answer. The one I received for my medical was blue.

If you haven't gotten a notice saying that your case was transfered, it's still very likely that it's exactly where they say it is. Unfortunately, you've probably received an RFE for something other than the tax related stuff. Perhaps they found something else in your file that was incomplete? I'm not sure. Won't know until you receive it in the mail, unfortunately.

It's probably for something unrelated to the first. They don't usually give second chances on RFEs so if you had answered the first wrong it probably would have been denied. So if you got another it's probably for a new problem.

I actually think it will be for the first problem. Tax stuff is the #1 reason for RFE, and many people don't get it right and don't understand the parts. It's possible your other response was insufficient and the adjudicator felt nice and sent a second RFE. The OP says sh/e didn't make any mistakes and "sent all the papers," but neglected W2's, so it seems to me there may be other missing things in this "no mistake" packet... it's possible the RFE was for a complete tax return which was not sent back in.

But, we won't know until it comes... who's taking bets?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Finally got the paper yesterday in the mail and I'm relief to see it's not really big deal, it's annoying tho that my case is being delayed... my in-laws are the joint sponsors and the RFE they sent right now is for me to send copies of their passports or birth certificates proving they are U.S citizens!!

any idea what should I expect now?

I had 2RFEs as well and both for the same stuff as yours. My first one was for my joint sponsor's birth certificate and the second one was for w'2s and tax transcripts. they received my second response June 13th and June 15 i received an email about EAD card production. Today June 20th i received an email about the green card interview on July 26th. Hope your case will move forward quickly now. Good luck and keep us posted.

My RFE response took a little less than two weeks, I think. Hopefully it's soon for you. :)
