I have read in the timeline of your pending visas regarding contacting your congressman etc. How do you that? Do you send an email or letter? Or pick up the phone, dial and talk to the congressman personally? Was your congressman able to support the next step in your application process or all throughout? besides congressmen who are the other govt or political officials that you run too? Do you really need to know them personally or you just self introduce?

Asking your Representative for help in just about any matter concerning you is a right given to all Americans and immigrants to America. The most preferred way is for you to write a formal letter introducing yourself, then detail your problem. This is something that you don't do everyday, and only when you have exhausted all avenues and came up with nothing. It would also help if you attach all documents pertaining to your problem. In most cases your Representative is able to iron out things for you and cut through the red tape.

By the way, who will write the representative- the petitioner who is the us citizen or the one who is being petitioned (residing outside of the usa)? Can any of the two mentioned also write the representative about visa problems?

I went to my Senator and he helped.

Go to the congressmans or senators website and look for help with immigration or immigration help and it will tell you what to do.

It was easy and it helped because it was brought up at my wifes interview in Manila.

Having a Senators help is more influential than a congressmans.

I used my Senators because he is a republican and I am also. I told him that I voted for him which I did and now its time for him to help me.

It worked.

The US citizen should write, because they can vote (or not..) for the Senator/ Congressman. There is no point just asking for help, you need a reason, such as being outside processing time. You won't actually be talking to your elected rep directly, but to their staffer who deals with immigration matters.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! You are all superbly great! at least there is still a chance. The USCIS say their timeline for my case is 3 months and its entering the fourth month already... i hope they can give me the decision as soon thru snail mail or through case status online.

Going to the 4th month of waiting, IMO, is not excessive, but perhaps 5 or 6 months is. It's all up to you! We all don't want to abuse our congressional rights, but then again it's your sponsor's judgement.
