Packet #4, Manila Embassy

I have been led to a Feb 2006 posting of the contents of packet #4 but as i read the K1,K2 FAQ, I see there is a listing for the Form DS-2001. I know that this has to be signed and returned to the consulate as soon as possible. But did anyone made a copy that they can share it to us all here? Does the Manila embassy requires 3 years of tax returns or W-2 statements?

Another question, has anyone been successful in calling the embassy to see if the packet was ready, and then picking up the packet instead of waiting it to be mailed out. And at the same token, submit the DS-2001 checklist to the embassy in person instead of mailing it back? pardon about being anxious here. We are trying to get the VISA. Our biggest hope, though its probably a slim chance, is that my fiancee would be able to fly back with me during my stay this coming Dec/Jan.

You can call the immigrant visa section in Manila and request they send your packet 4 to St Luke's and you can pick it up there. You are not required to submit a checklist to the consulate in preparation for the interview. You will be scheduled for an interview automatically without submitting a checklist.

thanks for the reply. So I assume St. Luke will notify my fiancee? Is this a faster way of getting the packet than thru the mail? thx.

If you request the packet be sent to St Luke's it will be there within a day or 2. St Luke's will not notify her. It is a much more reliable way of getting the packet.

Hi John_and_Marlene,

I called the embassy today and they said that they received our case Oct. 12. Is it okay to make the request to send the packet to St. Luke's as early as now? You said it'll just take 2 days, is that 2 days after making the request?

i don't think you'll be able to receive appointment package until your interview date is assigned.

Hi roymcn3rd,

So this means that I need to have an interview date assigned first... but isn't that what's inside the packet? Is there any other way I can find out if they've already assigned an interview date for my case?

Thanks in advance!

Your case number is MNL2006723XXX and you already have an interview date. My case number is MNL2006777XXX. It feels like my file is at the bottom of someone's drawer at the embassy. :( *sigh* waiting and praying...
