He wants to "go see his life", huh? There's nothing to dicuss here: you've been 419ed. Call USCIS asap and pull support. He has no right to treat you like this, and he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. I'm really sorry :(.

Call? Withdrawal of I-864 is not handled via telephone.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

@Darnell,

I dnt think it is a good idea just to tell the person on the spot to withdraw their case. As a family here, I thot we cud better advise than just give a conclusion. This particular individual needs her hubby back. (Just imagine how much she need him).

Lets help her with good advice than giving her harsh conclusions. What if her husband shows up today and they reconcile again. And yet we don't know exactly what went wrong between this 2couples. Maybe she is the one who is totaly wrong and the fact that the hubby went missing, now she s crying for help. Guys remember its "for better or worse" rite?

My suggestion is, please madam with the hubby gone missing; lets hope for the best and do what you think is right. I know many folks here are trying to help but they are going too deep into your personal matter. All the best of luck, and my hope is for him to comeback. Dn't worry. Things will be okay soon!

Mostly I was trying to outline the process. It's still on her to do it. I usually not give other advice, but for this topic, I have. My bad.

Some good advice? OK.

Say one pulls the I-864. The interview isn't cancelled, usually. Reconcile? Show up with yer spouse with a new I-864, and that withdrawal is fixable. End of Good Advice.

[Rant On]

This comment about marriage being 'for better or worse' usually the worse was for other areas of worse - like incompatible personalities, power play/struggle, mental illness, physical illness - not for 'worse' being in the visa scammer category, or the infidelity in marriage category.

Roll forward 80 years to today, from the last convocation of the Episcopal Church's meetup on this marriage vow, and you'll find new applications, new meanings, new definitions of 'worse'. I'm sorry (I understand yer position but I vehemently oppose it) , but to try to apply 'better or worse' in this particular case screams of incredulity. I'm incredulous (rhymes with aghast, btw) that you'd try to apply this moniker of 'better or worse' these days. Many Marriages in the USA are disbanded, those folk find it so much easier to be apart on all levels. Getting a divorce in most states - there's even a 'no fault' clause - which trumps this 'for better or worse' marriage vow in it's entirety.

What were you thinking, really?

[Rant Off]

My apologies to all, really, for offering advice to this USCitizen.

how do people meet these scammers?? let me tell you they wait out there like sharks for the feeding. there are soooo many ways, even spam emails from people claiming to be singles wanting to meet to internet dating sites and the list goes on. however, one of the best ways to avoid a lot of this is by getting to know the person and not rushing into anything. the scammer will be in a hurry to make things progress. IMO

I hate to say this but people like OP's husband ruin it for everyone else :( I hope he hasn't ruined her from finding true-love in the future with someone who will value her for HER!

Oh not really. The twenty million illegal aliens aren't affected in the least.

It's mostly just the people doing things legally that are punished for the scammers. We're just a small minority compared to the illegals, so most immigrants are unaffected.

Although I am sure some of your response reaps sarcasm, I have to say thank you for your advise. I asked for advise in a pubic forum and accept and appreciate any and all advise I am getting. This is such a difficult time for me I appreciate all the support i can get.

My apologies to all, really, for offering advice to this USCitizen.
