well its quite clear he is safe and doesnt want to be with you. Its hard but you need to get over it and move on with your life. No wonder Nigeria consulate is so tough it seems half the time the petitioner themselves are not aware of the visa fraud....

Right.

Makes me sad and also angry at the same time. The CO will have to use his/her interview tactics on my innocent Fiancee due to alleged fraudsters like OPs Husband.

He emailed her already and made it clear he doesnt want to be with her. He is not a missing person he is a %$#&$ that left her , and she needs to protect herself.

Amen. You sound very rational right now, I would NOT be if this were something I was going through...Will be praying.

I may be wrong but isn't it a fairly easy procedure to trace the origin of an email? In other words, couldn't someone find out the location where he is this way, without having feet on the ground searching for him. Just a thought. I would actually report him to the police because what is to stop him from finding another woman and scamming her in the same manner to become legal here- the result being another case filed with USCIS (fraudently of course) with a similar end.

@Darnell,

I dnt think it is a good idea just to tell the person on the spot to withdraw their case. As a family here, I thot we cud better advise than just give a conclusion. This particular individual needs her hubby back. (Just imagine how much she need him).

Lets help her with good advice than giving her harsh conclusions. What if her husband shows up today and they reconcile again. And yet we don't know exactly what went wrong between this 2couples. Maybe she is the one who is totaly wrong and the fact that the hubby went missing, now she s crying for help. Guys remember its "for better or worse" rite?

My suggestion is, please madam with the hubby gone missing; lets hope for the best and do what you think is right. I know many folks here are trying to help but they are going too deep into your personal matter. All the best of luck, and my hope is for him to comeback. Dn't worry. Things will be okay soon!

In addition to that, I'd withdraw the AOS of course!

p.s. if he's not even there, how does Einstein propose receiving his green card? It's my understanding that he thinks since you've submitted the AOS package, he should wait for the mail. I'd keep a rat trap in my mailbox if I were you.

This is so sad to hear especially being that my fiance just got approved yesterday and is from Nigeria. Life is a gamble. It doesnt matter whether the person is from here or there. It sounds to me like he has no intentions of coming back and you need to protect yourself.Dont let him fool you into thinking he doesnt have means to move around this country without being detected. Nigerian men are very resourceful people and they have friends everywhere. Move on with your life and good luck to you. It is his loss.

It depends on where the email was sent from. The header can sometimes show the IP but sometimes it is hidden. I don't think you can see the IP in Gmail webmail for example. If it was sent from an email application on a computer it should be possible to find the IP.

if he has been missing for 24 hours. you should go to the police department and let them do the searching for you. he would eventually surface up and you will get informed on his situation. then i would decide his real intentions before withdrawing support. it is just too irrational to withdraw support on the dot.

While it's easy to think this was a fraud... it's only been a DAY.

File a Missing Person report.

Let's be honest to this poor woman.

Her heart is broken. We don't need to sugar coat things and say "what he said vs what you heard".

The guy must have given her intentions to get married from some point in their relationship. If he didn't want any form of long-term commitment (aka marriage) he would not have let it get this far.

IMO- this was fraud just like quite a few other people pointed out. I am sorry to be so blunt! Immigration fraud happens in many first world nations to many individuals. I can only imagine the heartache that these people (and woman) must go through. It's not just a financial cost, it is also an emotional roller coaster ride.

Like someone else pointed out, to file a fraud case may exhaust you emotionally. If you haven't received the green card yet, just pull your application and support and move on with your life.

Best of luck to you!

I hope karma gives that B&^%$rd the same emotional turmoil he has given you.

Being honest....No one knows what happened inside their home or within their relationship except those involved. So to give one side advice on a one sided situation that you didn't witness is absolutely irresponsible. Is it possible that she said some spiteful and hurtful things that waranteed the responses received? (I'm not accusing her of that...just saying) Honestly all of her answers lie with her as I said earlier.

I'm just interested to know -- how do people end up meeting these scammers?

And OP I am very sorry for your current issues... and I do hope that he comes home to you and this isn't a case of fraud.

I am sorry you are going through this! if you are sure you he is not coming back and it is over you do need to protect yourself. here is what i would do, wait a few days. if nothing has changed, go to the police and report him missing but on his own accord. Really no need to search for him, just a need to cover your bases, and yes emails in the US can usually be traced to the router through which it was sent, but why. then i would follow the other advise here and cancel the 184. If he does turn up and file for food stamps ect. you could be held financially responsble and have to pay them back. There are a few other things i would do, but i wont get into that here. Above all protect yourself. i hope things get better for you!

how do people meet these scammers?? let me tell you they wait out there like sharks for the feeding. there are soooo many ways, even spam emails from people claiming to be singles wanting to meet to internet dating sites and the list goes on. however, one of the best ways to avoid a lot of this is by getting to know the person and not rushing into anything. the scammer will be in a hurry to make things progress. IMO
