Well without getting into a lot of details

All the details lie with you and so do your answers. There is something I like to call "what he said vs what you heard." So often women accuse men of lying when the man has actually told you their intentions and shown you who they are, but we romanticized them. What has he told you that you laughed off or thought "oh he doesn't mean that?" I would suggest you do somethings that you like doing to quiet your mind and you'll get your answers. (sit by a river, go to the beach, take a walk)

He emailed her already and made it clear he doesnt want to be with her. He is not a missing person he is a %$#&$ that left her , and she needs to protect herself.

Alas, he is a missing person. Filing a MPR is a way to provide her some legal protection if something were to happen to him.

well its quite clear he is safe and doesnt want to be with you. Its hard but you need to get over it and move on with your life. No wonder Nigeria consulate is so tough it seems half the time the petitioner themselves are not aware of the visa fraud....

Honestly everyone here responding to the OP can only speculate, the OP is the only one who knows this man, and knows what she is feeling in her heart. If you ( the OP ) believes, with everything you are, that he scammed you, that he used you, that you believe this in your gut wholeheartedly then you have an obligation to report him to ICE and make all attempts to cancel the petition. If you think it was just a marriage gone wrong, even though you dont know why, then dont be spiteful about it, just let him go and live his life.

I believe women have amazing intuition, that even if we dont want to believe it, we already know the truth. You have to follow your heart on this.

Having said the PC stuff, IMHO he was looking for a way out. To have a little fight and just end everything is very suspicious. People fight, and leave for some air and cool down time. But to just end it and leave, doesnt feel right to me. It sounds more like he picked a fight to get the end result he was looking for. Im really sorry for this, going through the process to end up where you are is so unfair. I wish you the best in your decision.

I'm sorry, but you give absolutely horrible advice. Your ONLY suggestion is to always "leave them be" ... the husband has said he no longer needs his wife for anything now that he can "disappear in the US" and the wife has no idea where he is. And this is a situation that should be ignored, in your opinion? Horrible.

Smh. I'm surprised he survived this long in the world.

Even after the additional details provided, I still recommend that the OP still files a missing person report. If anything it will be recorded and based on the emails then there won't be a search launched.

In case of anything on the future you can be covered knowing you followed protocol. You have no proof that he's the one that sent the email.

The assumption that once you submit a report that the authorities will launch a full scale search is false. And you're not taking resources away from real missing persons, you did pay into the tax.

I believe you are victim of a scammer..He made statement there is no life back in his home country it seems he used you to come to Usa and once here disappeared. There is one web site called scammers love you will be in shock with the numbers of women scammed and most of the guys are from Nigeria,Ghana and Ivory Coast. I don't know your case, but most of the women scammed saw their husbands or fiances once or twice before the visa was issued.I would call Uscis and ICE to report him for sure.He hurt you badly and now you have to take care of yourself and move on and be careful with him because he can try to go back with you when he realizes without his documents he will be in trouble.Praying for you.

Could you post the source URL?

He wants to "go see his life", huh? There's nothing to dicuss here: you've been 419ed. Call USCIS asap and pull support. He has no right to treat you like this, and he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. I'm really sorry :(.

Let's be honest to this poor woman.

Her heart is broken. We don't need to sugar coat things and say "what he said vs what you heard".

The guy must have given her intentions to get married from some point in their relationship. If he didn't want any form of long-term commitment (aka marriage) he would not have let it get this far.

IMO- this was fraud just like quite a few other people pointed out. I am sorry to be so blunt! Immigration fraud happens in many first world nations to many individuals. I can only imagine the heartache that these people (and woman) must go through. It's not just a financial cost, it is also an emotional roller coaster ride.

Like someone else pointed out, to file a fraud case may exhaust you emotionally. If you haven't received the green card yet, just pull your application and support and move on with your life.

Best of luck to you!

I hope karma gives that B&^%$rd the same emotional turmoil he has given you.

There is no need to be judgmental.

The OP has just had something very shocking happen, perhaps you could try and be understanding instead?
