Is that the quote of the day on the back of the Kool-Aid pack ?

What's so funny? The fact that a bunch of individuals don't know how to earn something and fight for themselves?

If you work on the taxpayers dime, you should take what you get and be happy with it. This isn't some private company trying to turn a profit, it's a damn public school, depart of....., etc. It's not for you to beat up your next door neighbor and demand more money from him/her.

Public Employees are no better than welfare queens when they sit here and act the way they do.

The goosestep manner in which the same mantras are repeated over and over. It is Orwellian!

It's more orwellian for a bunch of sheep to be herded together outside of a public office demanding more money in unison from taxpayers, requiring the taxpayers to submit more of their hard earned income to the state.

Exactly. Because we know that public employees don't actually earn their pay. It's not like they work for a living. That is, the teachers, the police force, firefighters, soldiers and so on. They all don't do shite, just sit on their fat arses and take all that money from taxpayers.

That is covered by the First Amendment, and as such it is not Orwellian, so much as it is Constitutional... but then again, chances are the back of the Kool-Aid pack refers to the document as 'that g-d piece of paper'...:rofl:

Really? Collective bargaining rights are in the constitution? Might want to try again.

Political speech and protesting against government is protected, but you are in no way guaranteed to be allowed to demand that you and a group of your peers be paid the same exact way. Other Federal laws might protect that over time, but not the constitution.

The best thing that can be done to the collective when they strike is to replace them, fire them, etc. for those who are qualified and will do a better job without demanding more from the taxpayers.

Public employees already get more benefits than the private sector paid for on the taxpayers dime. They don't need to get together and demand more. If you don't like your job and what it pays, find another. Taxpayers however should not have to pay more just because a few greedy fvcks want to attend an extra baseball game every year.

IYHO, that is.Over 1.1 million people in Wisconsin disagree, while 1.3 million agree with you. It seems like the public opinion is divided.

Mayor Chuck Smith (D) and liberal San Jose voted 70% to dial back the choke hold the unions had on the cities budget. San Diego did like wise.

CA, will have a measure on the ballot in Nov. to check Union power. Looks like Tue was the start of the nationwide push back against public employee unions.

Did they copy what Walker did or does the San Jose measure differ from his in some ways?

They do, but who do they need protection from? The government?

Im just starting to read the SJ & San Diego measures now. We're talking San Jose here, so liberal I would get arrested just driving through. The bottom line is taxpayers and union members want an option when it comes to having dues deducted, for political reasons.

It will be interesting to learn if their intent is to follow Wisconsin verbatim, or if they believe they can keep both the baby and the water.
