You can also just let it expire.

This is terrible advice!

If in the future this petitioner finds True-Love abroad and decide to file K-1 again,,,,,Well now you are considered a Multiple K Visa filer by IMBRA and will have to wait 2 years. The officer will bring this up in the interview of the future k-1 beneficiary.

Please withdraw the petition to avoid any future complications!

Yeah, you're right, forgot about that. But I filed a I-130 for a different person after letting my I-129F expire, and even though it's not supposed to be an issue for marriage visas, only for K visas, it still came up in the interview.

I understand that LDR is really tough. but if there is really love between both of you, then everything is possible.. Just keep the communication open. Much better everyday.

Just like ordinary relationship. you need to invest time. but if your not willing to give time, doesnt communicate that much and dont have a lot of patience then the relationship will not work, either its LDR or not.. If there is Love, there is patience.. We just need to sacrifice first and the reward is so great, Happiness, forever..!!!

Try to think about it first. Because if you love here your willing to sacrifice everything.. Cheers!!! and goodluck!!

But if not.. just follow what people advice in here.. cancel the petition.

having gone through long distance myself, i can say that it is hard, but true relationships can withstand anything. im both happy and sad that u have figured out early enough that it is not the true relationship.

2006 - Entered US on F-1
2009 - COS to H-1
2011 - Married USC

Conditional GC Process:
04/2012 - Concurrent I-130 petition / I-485 AOS / I-765 EAD / I-131 AP sent
35 days to biometrics, 73 days to EAD/AP combo card, 85 days to interview, 96 days to Conditional Green Card

04/2014 - Eligible for ROC

06/2014 - I-751 package filing joint with spouse sent

5 days to extension,37 days to biometrics, 172 days to CSC transfer, 247 days to Green Card

04/2015 - Eligible for Citizenship

09/2015 - N-400 package filing on basis of USC spouse sent

29 days to biometrics, 105 days to interview, 147 days to oath and US citizenship

~ 9 years and 6 months from first entry to US citizenship

I doubt it. All relationships are difficult. Adding an ocean to the equation just makes it that much harder!

adding uscis is just stupid! i am almost 5months on background check with clean records as a couple. then you have idiots hiring other idiots reading scripts on the phone. if this was my job, i find it very de-meaningful and i would shoot myself on the head. then you have the so claim smartest person running uscis when they spent millions of tax dollars on a call centers versus adjudicators. where is the cost benefit analysis? then they outsource the filing operations and it is even slower than usual. this just creates unnecessary overheads or providing a cash-line for the rich.

01/20/12 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.

01/26/12 - NOA1 received and processing at Vermont.

06/28/12 - NOA2 announced on status check.

06/29/12 - NVC received case learned on 07/2/12.

06/30/12 - Hard copy NOA2 received.

07/09/12 - NVC Casefile Number and IIN Issued.

07/16/12 - Receive and Sent DS-3032 via email.

07/17/12 - Mailed DS-3032 via mail, AOS bill received via email, paid online, Optin email sent.

Long distance is not for everything. It is for people who really feel the love and passion to do it. Most give up 1/2 the finishing line.

Don't cancel it. Wait just one more day and tomorrow do the same. Sooner or later you two will be like two loving birds.

Not really advising the OP to stay, just advising to think about it. Yes it is hard, but you can't give up at the first roadblock. If the love isn't there, that is one thing. But giving up just because its too hard is crazy.

We don't know the details of his relationship, and it's none of our business. You don't know if this is "the first roadblock" at all. You're making assumptions.

He didn't come here asking for relationship advice. He came here because he's made a decision and wants to know how to properly cancel the petition. He's been told how to now. There's no reason for people to tell him to stay with the woman (who he said right away "is not the one") if he doesn't want to.
