5 months and still waiting

We waited almost 6 months for ours... :(

We were at the CA service center though, but still. I know it's frustrating, but as soon as the NVC receives your case, it FLIES!

Almost there!!!

It does not always fly at the NVC...We were at the NVC much longer than we should have been because of several errors made on their part. The fact of immigration is that every case is different. No one can tell you how long any part of this process will last, we can only estimate based on other people's time lines. Cases are not done in any particular order, and once it gets past the NVC stage each consulate has different requirements and different ways they schedule things. Try not to compare your case so much to others. you will drive yourself insane. All you can do is hope for the best. Good luck :)

It's been 5 months since my NOA1 and still haven't heard anything from VSC. Anyone else on the same boat? Any January 2012 filers still waiting?

I found some timelines from February 2012 that were already approved at VSC. Don't they go in order they receive the file??? :(

You are getting really close  You hopefully will hear something soon. Usually takes 6 months for CR-1 applicants. It took us 6 months for our K-1 petition to be approved. However, once it is approved, be prepared to move fast. So, in the meantime, research the forums, guides here at VJ so you will know what to do next. Good luck with your visa journey :yes:

I'm still waiting too, and I filed January 13th. I agree that everyone should be polite to whoever is answering the phone. Whoever answers the phone likely has almost no power and is likely reading from a script. I worked customer service and I would be a lot more willing to go the extra mile for someone who was polite than someone who was rude.

my waiting time has reached its limit- 3 months per uscis but no answer yet- it's now entering the 4rth month but it will be a full fourth month if it reaches 30th of june, 2012. Nevertheless, i also need to stay for 1 more year to finish an official business so really no hurry. what worries me is the result and if it's positive how fast can this be done? will it be after the one year time so i can finish my official business? these are the questions that bisects me.

Hello January (2012) CR-1 Filers...

My 5 months mark was on January 3rd. I contacted CA USCIS 2 days ago.. apparently they are delayed by 18 days, CSR advised i should be hearding something within the next few weeks (if not) call CA USCIS next month to submit a receipt.. They must be pretty back up.. ((it would be nice if the petitioners that are not committed in bringing there love ones-just dont file)) its making us wait longer to bring over our love ones.. just a waste of processing time.. ((if your unsure, why do it in the first place)) i know everyone's situation is different and it starts to evolve in the middle of the process.. IF YOUR HEART AND COMMITTMENT IS NOT IN IT... WHY DO IT.. ((im just saying...)) it makes us wait longer and gets very stressful..

Tell me about it. We filed at the end of february and the other day I read on here that this couple filed in the beginning of may and got their NOA2 at the end of may. They filed at the same service center (California) as we did. Now tell me how fair is that? On top of that they met last june and got engaged within three months. I've met my fiance in september of 2009. How annoying!!!

I found some timelines from February 2012 that were already approved at VSC. Don't they go in order they receive the file??? :(

My NOA1 was December 5, 2011 at the VSC. 184 days and still waiting. One guy posted that the VSC has stopped processing most normal cases and switched into full gear on protected status cases. I've contacted my Representative twice, his office expects a response today, though I do not expect it to be very informative. The last time the VSC responded to my Representative's inquiry, they answered a question that I did not ask. I wrote one of my Senators. I wrote a letter to the President, the Vice President, the First Lady and even presidential challenger Mitt Romney. I never expected any of them to really read or respond to this, but I had some small hope that an ambitious staffer may want to look at it as a potential positive in the political "win column". I'm sure the Secret Service agents that screen the letters got a kick out of them though. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

If my Representative's office does not get back to me today as promised, I will call my two Senators and see if one of them may be able to help.

running 6 mos next week and it's just getting sooo frustrating.. been patient the whole 5mos as it clearly states that initial review process takes 5mos the most.. isn't this enough for them? then if not they should have changed the 5mos to 10mos so our hopes won't be high and be more frustrated.. after passing the 5th month mark, we tried our best, ask for service request, ask assistance from a senator and congressman.. and still nothing... indeed it's a case to case basis, but how come complicated cases were approved earlier than ours? .. how come they can start approving feb filers when there's a lot of dec filers left behind?... i know in time we will get our noa2, but dude this process is clearly not systematic...so frustrating... we aren't on the flintstone's stage anymore... they have more resources to adjudicate cases faster... i wish i can call Thor so he can hammer those lazy people at csc.. ggrrr..

Thanks all! I did call them and I just got an email saying that our case is under review and we should receive a decision or notice of action with 60 days of this notice. This is really frustrating since we already waited 5 months and now 2 more months! :crying:

Currently they are approving mid-January applicants in Vermont when it comes to your type of visa...

Expect it any day now!

Hey I read this a lot people finding exactly what the centers are approving. Where and how do you do that?

On the USCIS (check processing times I just get the standard 5 months). Thanks
