Please Help:Interview on Tue. but no valid ID, should I reschedule

Hi, I have my interview on Tuesday, and I am freaking out because I send my old passport to my country Embassy in D.C. so that I can get a whole new passport and have valid ID for my interview. They said it would only take about 2 weeks, well, it's been over 3 weeks and I have not recieved anything in the mail yet. Try calling on Friday but no one answer the phone. What should I do, should I call and reschedule? How long would it take to get a new date? I don't mine waiting another month or two, but I am not sure what I should do in this case. Any help would be geat.

08/29/06 Receive Biometric letter in mail

09/05/06 Biometric appointment (everything when okay)

09/05/06 Receive Interview letter for I-485 in the mail for 10/17

09/06/06 I-485, I-130 and I-765 touch

10/17/06 Interview day (interviewer did not have my permanent file)

10/17/06 I-130 Approval e-mail

From San Jose office, they all tend to follow the same rules.

Acceptable forms of identification include: passport, green card, national ID, military ID, state-issued photo ID, or other USCIS-issued photo ID.

Do you have a national ID from your home country, or a drivers license (State issued Photo ID) in your state.

Do not reschedule your interview..... if you have to go and explain what has happened at worst they will give you a RFE for your new passport or they will give you another interview date... if you reschedule it is very likely you will get a denial for failing to show....

As you dont have your timeline filled in I dont know if you have an EAD.... if you do you can use that as ID or a drivers licence or ID from your home country....

Hi, I did not recieved my EAD yet, only file AOS in August, I do have my state ID but it is expired, I'm going to go to my interview and explain what happen, I am keeping my fingers cross that they give me a new interview date. Thanks everyone for the advice

Good luck I think you will do fine. Even an expired photo ID is better than nothing. :thumbs:
