We were in the process of putting together documents for our AOS interview and noticed it’ll be 12 days and 1 year since my K-1 medical. My K-1 medical was on 12th October 2005 and our AOS interview is on 24 October 2006. We had the medical supplement filled out by a civil surgeon here in Florida and sent it in with our AOS packet back in April 2006. :P

I had read that for my AOS I must have had a medical carried out within one year prior. My question is essentially will or could my AOS interview be held up or my case denied as I’ll have gone over one year since my last medical?

If my medical does cause a hold up will they allow me to keep my EAD or is it standard procedure for them to take that at the interview? I haven’t yet gotten a job yet and I need one, there isn’t any way we could afford another medical (if required) on one income.

Any help or advice is much appreciated! :)

As Kezzie wrote.

My K-1 medical was March 2004; we got married June 2004 and applied for AOS July 2004. My file languished somewhere before being transferred to California where it continued to languish so that my AOS was not approved until May 2006. My medical was over 2 years old at the time of approval but there was no problem since the AOS was filed within 12 months of the medical being completed. You will be fine.
