the company I work for wants to offer me a contract,but they said they can't give it to me,till I have my 10 year green card,and if I can't produce it soon,they will offer it to someone else,I submitted my I-751 last November,and as you know the vsc is rather slow,is there any way I can get the uscis to look at my file sooner,

You can attempt asking for expedite but its likely it wont be granted.

Isn't that discrimination based on status? You have a valid GC (or extension letter).

Yeah, something fishy there. You are still a perm resident, all your paperwork is in and just pending. I would really push this issue with them and show them the extension letter.

The company wants to make sure that you receive your 10 year green card because I assume they would not want to pay for the sponsorship fees. The company is basically protecting themselves. Even though you have the 1 year extension, you can still be denied at any time. The 1 year extension is just a "permission slip" for you to stay in the US while your case is pending. The company wants a sure shot that you receive your 10 year green card to show your eligibility status inside the company. Some companies are very strict with this due to immigration issues. One thing you can do is to contact the USCIS and follow up on your case.

There is no such a thing like "Expedite Service", you have to wait for your turn. However, If you were a CSC filer or military applicant , you would have gotten your ROC result already.

Unfortunately, VSC is very slow, you will hear probably sometime in September 2012. Tell your employer hold on the contract until then. Good luck !......

Super +++++.

This is discrimination. A Legal Permanent Resident is a Legal Permanent Resident. A "conditional" resident is a Legal Permanent Resident and has the same rights and responsibilities. You are renewing your card. It takes some time to renew. That's all.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Classical discrimination case. You are legal and have all the rights to work and live in the US. You better show the employer his DO's and DONT's.
