See underlined texts above. Do you know how many application filed under F2A from Aug thro Dec 2010. I've seen that everyone writing huge applications during that period but no one has BASIC FACTS on how many under F2A. It is all GUESS so is movement of VB.

See this text of Visa bulletin for January 2011

D. RETROGRESSION OF FAMILY CUT-OFF DATES

As reported in the December Visa Bulletin (number 27), the cut-off dates for most Family preference categories advanced at a very rapid pace during the past two years. Those movements have resulted in a dramatic increase in the level of applicant demand received in recent months. This has required the retrogression of many Family preference cut-off dates for January in an effort to hold number use within the various numerical limits. Further retrogressions cannot be ruled out should demand continue at the current levels.

See the underlined text.

Your QUOTE does not make a sense and does not give specifics of number of candidates.

When NVC says APPLICANT DEMAND, it is different from USCIS's Applicant Demand. At NVC, total no. of people eligible for visa interviews, not total no. of applications filed at USCIS in a given month/period of time. The reasons for RETROGRESSION is there are SO MANY CASES of 2008/2009 were cleared by USCIS back in 2010 and making More Applicants joining the pool and hence Retrogression happened- NOT BECAUSE No. of APPLICATIONS Received at USCIS during Aug-Dec 2010.

CORRECT CORRECT. I guees now USCIS clearing files very slowly. And I think for now everything under control.

I can not say the exact no because I don't have any source for that but I am sure that there are significantly higher number of applicants after Aug 10 to Jan 11. In my surrounding also I have seen many applicants who were waiting for naturalization to bring their spouse. They applied that time thinking that they are going to be current within 6 months. This is my general logic and cases I have seen in my surrounding. Many of them will get citizenship soon but still there are higher number than usual.
