Hey Renee . . . I totally agree. I mean "really". The foreigner is leaving their homes and families. Everything that they KNOW to come over here on a promise that they will be loved and to have them told "oh I am sorry" is rather sad and just WRONG. This process takes so long that if there are ANY doubts or second thoughts one should abandon immediately. No fair to play with folks' feeling and taking up precious time and resources that could be spent on people who are genuinely waiting and praying . . .

I've seen plenty that goes both ways, so I wouldn't blame it on just the USC. I've seen those coming in on the K-1 then bail on the petitioner. Could be they deserved to be bailed out on in some cases, but I'm sure not all. And some that will come, stay just long enough to get the green card then they're gone. I wish there was a sure fire test to make sure people will work together, and their intentions are honest. Unfortunately people are people and this is going to happen. But why don't people wait long enough in their relationships to be sure before getting into this?

hehe renee i think we read the same threads the last couple of weeks. cuz today i was asking myself that.after i read a new thread.

its totally both sides some usc just bring their gf/bf over here and then decide oh well i changed my mind and dont see that the other person left everything behind. and then there are ppl who lie to some usc just to get a green card .. its just sad..

i hope ppl would get to know ppl more b4 they all decide to get married. cuz maybe when they visit each other more and spend more time together both sides could figure out if thats the right thing. too bad lol

i agree, throughout this process, the waiting game has been so tough. Its been 7 months without seeing my fiancee,5 months waiting for NOA2, and ill be honest, we both have been stretched far with our patience n yes have argued and whatnot. But never, did I or her, seriously consider just blowing it up bc we knew it was a commitment from day the papers were filed.IT IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY, and to all people who do take it this way, its a shame. Because for people like mi, and others on Visa Journey, these months apart, this waiting, is hardest thing we ever have to go through. My heart breaks everyday that Alexandra is not with mi. But, I just go on hoping for that day that she's here. I've been told June 4, then June 10, now maybe June 21, May God help mi, bc it hurts.but Someday, she is coming. I just gotta keep hoping n praying and to everyone else, I pray for you also.

Agreed. The answer is the reason there is a 90 day period for people to find out if the situation is correct for them when they are in the country & area where they will live. The immigrant may need time to adjust or may not be able to do so when they are in the real circumstance. The immigrant must make the most serious decision to leave their country, family ect behind for the unknown. Few people have a real sense of what life is like in America.

The other option is to simply marry into the unknown hoping love will be the total answer to happiness. The divorce rate in America was about 54 % last time I checked. Rushing to marry may simply create a difficult situation beyond that of returning to a home country.

I doubt anyone here is in a position to determin the actions of another person or see inside the make up of anothers relationship. We all have to decide our own fate.
