what company or service do those of you calling the dominican republic cellphones use.i need proff my husband i a talk because we use calling cards i had startec for about two months and i have proof of those bills, but it was to0o much money. and since we were denied i need as much proof as possible. theres this service online that lets me purchase credit from them and call my hubby and see my call history online. this is great but only problem is that they give me a special phone number to use when i call him...for example it shows thatim actually calling a local number and not my husbands international number.

I am doing something similar to call my fiancee. I purchase credit for a calling card so I can call her much cheaper than if I were to just use my cell phone. I can view my call history online as well, which is really nice. They also give me a local number so that I can direct dial, instead of calling an 800 number and entering a pin every time. They have a place online where it has her international number listed and the local number to use to call it. Along with the call history, I am printing a copy of this page and indicating that the local number shown (which is right next to her international number ) is the number that shows up on my cell phone bill. Providing proof that the local number is linked to the actual international number should be all you need.

I use Dominican Movil. (but Mexico, Colombia, & Venezuela have it too) I paid $60 the first time, but it included the cellphone, delivery in hand, 1 month worth of calls and activation. The phone is really small, but it gives him a local number. Now if you want to proof that is his number even though it has a US area code, when they deliver it to him he gets a receipt with your name and his name on it including the phone number assigned to him. Each time I put $20 for the unlimited calls, I get a text message saying he can start receiving calls again because the phone has been recharged... it's $20 every 30 days, but its unlimited calls...he cant make no out going calls just receive them. Then when I get my cell phone statement, I highlight each time I dial his number and how long our conversations are for and of course the receipts match the number on my statement.

Here is their website & phone #s

https://www.dominicanmovil.com/Default.aspx

1-888-318-4022 calling from the US

1-829-200-8482 calling from the DR

good luck and hope this helps!

I actually utilize Vonage. It allows me to call from my cell phone as well as my home phone. You cant beat $35 a month. I am able to print a detailed invoice every month. We also have the Vonage Mobile app, which allows us to speak and txt for free over the internet. Just another thought..

I used only calling cards throughout our 4 year long distance relationship. At first I used to buy them at the corner store so I saved all of them (over 1500) and took those to the interview. Most recently I had been recharging the same calling card online on the card's website. I printed out the log of calling cards purchased online where it said how much and the date. I took a couple of pages of this history to the interview along with the actual calling cards from the years before. Yes I took over 1500 calling cards! LOL. I also printed logs from my cell phone company that displayed the number of the calling card you have to dial before the pin (If you use calling cards you should know what i'm talking about) and highlited that number on the logs. That is one way to do it. I hope this helps.

***** BTW the CO did not even look at the calling cards at all. I don't think they ever look at that kind of stuff because it can be made up. But if it gives you peace of mind, especially since you were denied before then take it. Since you were denied before, your best evidence is gonna be making frequent visits and opening a bank account together. Buying something together as well. Things like that.

Stay positive!
