hello friends,

Is it not a problem during visa interview if my husband and i meet once only since we got married..We both away to each other for 1 year and 7 months now it's quite long.. When he came here in the Philippines we got married and after that he couldn't come back here again form my cr1 interview because he is working 2 full time jobs and living alone is not fun.. We talk on the phone every single day and chat online what we have is real..Thank you!

1 year and 7 months is a long time  and throws a Red Flag for a marriage! FaceTime is the most important proof of a Real Relationship, Please ask your husband to come there 1 more time before your interview or be with you during your interview to show support as this will add more evident.

It's not an automatic denial, and there have been couples who were approved with only one visit, but as mentioned above it is a big red flag and it will make your case more difficult to get approved.

You are not the only one in this situation, I have been married to my husband 1yr now (we dated 10yrs b4 marriage) and I haven't visited him or seen him in person since our wedding ceremony and very short honeymoon. But we see every on skype and talk. I can't go to visit because we need all the money we can for school and application fees. So its not red flag at all. There are good reasons why we can't see our spouse. I don't think you should get worked up on this. You will be favored during your interview. goodluck.

thank you. i am a bit worried though because we only meet once but i know God will help me im sure im not the only one who have same situation.

Hi rawd,

I am no expert on this, but I will share my experience and let you be the judge...

My husband came to visit me 3 times (1-2 week long visits) in 2010...on the 3rd visit (Dec 2010) we got married. We had our interview in October 2011 and had not seen each other since due to my crazy work schedule and $$$. At the interview they said they did not doubt the relationship and they had everything they needed (we were put in AP, but I am certain that is for name checks and not for any doubt of our relationship) - I had submitted a lot of evidence w/our initial I-130 including excerpts from love letters and photos and our joint bank account info... I think if you submit enough other evidence proving that your relationship is valid and you feel comfortable, then I wouldn't worry too much...there are always complications - and flying around the world is not easy for everyone...I finally was able to make a trip to meet my husband about a week ago - it had been almost a year and a half since we had last seen each other! Good Luck!

God delays but doesn't forget.
