Hey, my whole point is not "do you believe my story or not?", my point is that some women are aware of, can and even HAVE filed rather "dicey" DV reports.. the original part of the thread I commented on dealt with "fabrication" and false claims.

My point is that it's not above SOME people from this culture to do such things.

I know of other guys this has happened to as well, but I prefer to speak from personal experience, not hearsay of a 3rd party.

The sad truth is that this can be a very dirty business. Before I met my fiancee, I was dating female Russian expats living in the US through this website. Outside of one girl who won the visa lottery, every single girl I met married US men and then divorced a year or more later. Almost all had spent only a single week with their man before he proposed and she accepted. One girl I met was a bit secretive about her living situation, finally at the end of our date she told me that she was engaged to a guy on Long Island and that she didn't love him. She wasn't even married yet and she was looking for a lover.

I'm sure most of these women sincerely wanted their marriages to work, but the bottom line is that there are a lot of FSU women who will roll the dice with a guy they trust and hope that love will eventually bloom. Bottom line: know your girl very, very well before you commit to something as serious as marriage.

I don't think his logic is skewed. He's not saying EVERY Russian woman is like this, but he is saying all the RW (except one) he met on that website were like this.

And aside from my own personal experience with my ex-wife (cough cough gag and cough), she made contact here with a couple of RW as well... and one of them we had actually met coming over on the plane, she was here on a Visa... NOT one for romance (fiancee/marriage) but some other kind... and my ex- ran into her again here in town, surprised she was still here. She said the woman told her... oh yeah, it was easy to stay, she used the web and found an American guy to marry, but now they were divorced already, so now she could stay...

I don't know if this woman became one of my ex-'s "coaches" in her process of bailing out of our marriage, but... I do know another RW, one who had even been my 'friend' before my ex- came over here, was advising my ex- in all sorts of things during the divorce... even "how to meet guys over the internet...". Gee, what a WONDERFUL friend, huh?

And I know for a fact that her and her ex-husband had filed a fraudulent LPR, and she also coached my ex- in how to do this as well, though I refused to participate in her "schemes".

there is NO doubt in my mind, in 20/20 hindsight that my ex- did exactly this:

When we hit some hard times shortly after getting married that I won't go into here, she pretty much lost interest in having a relationship, working on the relationship or staying with the relationship...

Lying and other "sneaky" behaviors began shortly thereafter, and in fact, even questioning her about some of these things turned into major arguements.

I honestly do not believe she "loved" me as she claimed she did, I believe she was willing to TRY a life and see how it worked out... and had her resources and info lined up in case she decided to bail out.

I believe there are many many RW with this kind of pragmatic, realistic approach. I've even discussed some of this at length with a woman back in Russia, about the Soviet/Russian approach to life... you say what you need to say externally to accomplish what you need to but you might never reveal all the aspects of the inner soul in the process.

It's been a hell of an education for me... I'm not slamming anyone else's relationship here, but I will say if I do "go back" to Russia for another relationship, I will make DAMN sure a lot of time and effort goes into making sure she's not just looking for a better life, but seriously and majorly in love... of course I thought that with my ex- soooooooo... as I said, it's been quite an education...

They may be heetri, that's why it's very important to screen for their true intentions BEFORE the actual VJ process begins. Because, there really are good ones out there too!

Good luck next time around, this knowledge came at a steep price to you but will likely keep you from repeating your mistake.

I came within a hair of making the same mistake as you a few years ago, only dumb luck saved my bacon before I started the K1 process. I still shudder when I think how close I came to marrying a monster... But in a way it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it tore away the blinders I was wearing.

One of the problems is that in Russia or Ukraine, not many people will criticize your ex for what she did. In fact, many people will admire her and some will even envy her.
