6 Months Passed Not Received Pkt 3 Yet L

Hi

My cousin has filed a K1 visa for his Fiance in June 2011, and got it approved from NVC in October stating that they will be trasferring the case to Mumbai Consulate in India. Its been almost more than 6 months since then and his fiance hasn't received a single letter from Mumbai Consulate asking her to submit any kind of paperwork.

Shouldn't she received instruction for Packet 3 asking her to submit ncessary dcouments to be prperaed for Interview.

We are kind of worried as nothing has happended so far, as K1 validity period of 4 months has also expired.

Can any one here who has gone thorough K1 finace visa route from Mumbai Consulate can give some advice what we should do next.

Should we just send an email to consualte asking what is the upadte on the Case ? or Should we just go ahed and send Packet 3 documetns direclty.

Any help from anybody would be really apprcited as my cousing has become very anxiouls lately.

What have they been doing in the intervening months??? BTW, USCIS approves K-1 petitions, NVC receives K-1 approved petitions, assigns a case file number, and then, barring any AP issues, forwards the petitions to the interviewing consulate/embassy. Do they have their case file number? That would be the first step, contact NVC and obtain their case file number, then they can at least have a reference point to contact other DoS agencies and find out the disposition of their petition. A little initiative and due diligence on their part a few months ago would have been appropriate.

nvc sent something out via postal mail? then there's a Consular Casefile #. No postal letter? then call into NVC, and get the NVC / Consular Casefile #.

and then...

Call DoS Hotline and inquire about the case - they can give you some status on monday about it.

then report back what ya learned from that monday call.

Have you contacted the consulate!? I hope she hasn't missed her interview date, because at this stage that probably means starting from scratch!
