They don't need a K-3, a person gets a K-3 and then comes and applies for AOS, they are already here. They follow the guidelines for applying for adjustment of status.

They don't renew the tourist visa because they are adjusting status.

How do they have an EAD to renew if they were on a tourist visa?

Your story doesn't sound right. If the alien entered on a tourist visa, they wouldn't have gotten an employment authorization document because visitors can't work. And if the alien wants to immigrate to the U.S., they can't use a visitor visa and it's not worth renewing it.

If the alien is inside the U.S., file the forms to adjust status to lawful permanent resident using this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

If the alien is outside the U.S., file the forms to seek an IR-1 visa. The IR-1 visa grants lawful permanent resident status as soon as the alien enters the U.S. They wouldn't need an EAD because the Green Card they receive authorizes them to work: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

The K-3 visa is obsolete, so forget about it.

Mistake. She only had a Visitor's visa. I accidentally put an Employment visa. We contacted US CIS and they were very helpful. Thanks for all of your quick advice. It's very appreciated. Everything's correct and on its way now. Have a good one.
