Living Trusts

I plan to list my assets for the 'Packet 3' and I want to know if they need a full copy of the Living Trust, an original??? Or, like most financial institutions, just a copy of the title and signature page. I am the grantor and the only trustee.

I don't have any experience with Living Trusts. However, if your job income is beyond the published poverty level guidelines, you do not need to send Living trust info with your I-134. Taxes, W-2, paystubs, I-134 notarized, letter from employer, letter from bank. I'd hate to see you send them something that they can't understand. That could lead to a delay.

Maybe someone else in the forum can speak more specific to your question.

The deal is I have averaged about $60,000 a year, but last year I only made $10,00 because I was on leave of absence, and I have a letter from my employer to this effect. Year to date I have about $60,000 because my income went up since I went back to work. During the time I was on leave, my assets were more than sufficient to sustain me.

I set up a Living Trust for estate planning purposes years ago. Virtually all my assets, except my retirement plan, are owned by my trust. Hard to beleive this would be 'confusing' but you never know. I'm surprised that more people in this forum don't have one.

The letter from your employer will state your salary, start date, position title, etc. The Consular Officer will be able to see that you meet the financial guidelines. Your pay stubs will reflect the increase in income for 2006. If I was going to send them info regarding a trust, I'd make sure that when they look at it, they know what it is. I'd attach an explanation to it to make sure they have a warm & fuzzy feeling with it. My 2 cents worth!
