My fiance and I met August 04. We wanted to file this time last year but delays in his divorce has caused us to put this off. We will hopefully be filing end of March 2006. I have filled out the forms several times being promised his divorce would be over and then the Canadian courts had their own agenda. Crossing my fingers that this is the last time I am filling out the forms.

wishing you the best of luck on the Divorce. Mine was just granted after 17 years of seperation...long story...short time getting divorced when I filed so I was lucky.

I met my love in the US during work and travel programm summer 2005.

After I left, we already knew what we wanted and in the beginning of 2006 we applied for K1 and hope that it will not take a lot to keep us apart and we will be together in july.

It is fast but it is love

we are all of the same kind

i am one of them waiting to file the k-1 petition. For me , it's not so good too. considering my age 23, i am still a college student. We are seperated in this january. My fiancee has been in the states for 18 months. since i miss her so much, i wish to see her frequently. i stop school and go work for airline so that i can travel there cheap and visit her. (and collect some extra evidence). but my fiancee recently change her mind saying that she wants me to graduate from college first before she marrys me. i am stil trying to persuade here to come here first and worry stuff later. Long distance relationship is really hard to keep.

waited almost 6 years, i lived with him for a year in romania in 2003-2005 before we decided to get married. And we met back in 2000.

Its fine to wait or file right away, either way its the decision of both of you on whats best for both of you.

Good luck!

We are waiting...

We have been together for 1.5 years now and are filing our k-1 in May.

Reason for the wait...this is a serious thing and a huge move for both of us but especially for Chris.

We wanted to be sure, no doubts or worries before we filed.

In my case I think it has been the best thing as our families have grown to love us as a couple and will work to help us through this process. We have a long road ahead by reading what the others have posted...But I can't wait!

I am a wife!! Whoa this is weird!
