How many peopel waited to file I129F

I am waiting for several months for several reasons we want to make sure we have plenty of things ready and also that our"ducks" are in a row..wouldnt want to lose one.among other reasons.. anyone else decide to wait for a "long" period of time afterdeciding onit?

well, my fiance and i have virtually waited 2 years to file ours....we actually filed it once two years ago, but decided we were not ready and withdrew the petition. now we are POSITIVE we are completely ready, have all our ducks in a row, and feel much more confident about the whole thing....

MY fiance Dave (UDC) and I have known eachother for nearly 4 years now and we have been talking about the K1 all this time, but we wanted to be real sure before we actually took the big leap. In my eyes I was really reall sure the minute I saw him the first time, but he wasnt too sure, although he loved me, to him Marriage is a big thing and he wanted to get it right the first time. I guess he is oldfashioned in that he feels strongly that marriage is for life!! I do like that because to me he is the only man I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I have been married before and know that things can change. I am a very spiritual person and whether anyone believes me or not - I know deep down with my heart and soul that this is the man I will be with the rest of my years Oh and yes we are filing our K1 this week (he was supposed to have mailed it yeasterday but i havent heard from him yet).

we waited one year - wich was one year to much, because the process took another year for us...

Relationship started in June 05, proposal in July 05, application in Aug 05. Interview on March 28 2006.

But ours was a rush case

We waited about 1.5 years before we filed the I-129F (after deciding that we want to live together). It took us some time to figure out which visa is the right one and we also needed the time get some things straight (most importantly finishing our studies, paying back my student loan).

The waiting is killing me lately but I know that it was the right decision. Also, I needed a little time to say good-bye to my country, plan the move and talk to friends and family about the decision.

You could say my fiance and I waited 6 years to go for this. Firstly was because we hadn't a clue how the system works and secondly we're both still young. He's 20 and i'm 17.

thnaks to everyone who has or who will reply it certainly has set my mind at even more ease that waiting was and is the right descision for now, even tho I cant wait to be married to my fiance.

We got engaged in July 04 and probably started talking about the K1 about a year later, maybe less, and since we wanted to get married May 06 we waited until Oct 05 to begin filing.

I waited several months before filing mine, and I still haven't filed yet. Paperwork probably won't go out for another week though. We'd talked about filing it in November after she left, but we wanted to wait awhile. We're probably still filing a bit early, but my main goal is to have that thing out of the US and in Sydney ASAP. I'd prefer to file in May, but if I file now, it cuts down on the days to an NOA2.

we were actually MARRIED for 3 years before we filed any papers. We were married and he went back to the UK. we waited 3 years to file because of his kids... (long story made short..LOL)

IMO: don't rush into it..make sure everything is right for you both!

I don`t think there are rules, you are ready when you feel ready- if for the two of you, that means you wait a while then for you, that is the only "pattern" you need to follow

that said: ours was a fast one.......hooked up oct 05, proposed nov 05, filed feb 06

I meet Johanna 8/20/02 became engaged on 8/20/05 and started the I-129F package in 9/3/05.

We didn't necessarily decide to wait but since my fiancee wanted to finish school first, we planned and studied on the visa process for almost a year before beginning the steps.

I did all my planning and preperation up front. Then, once I decided my fiancee was the right one, I went to see her with everything pretty much ready to go, so that I could submit my package as soon as I returned back from my trip.
