Hope so. I have had the talk. Everything is settled, and a few months later, it is, "Oh, I forgot!" Blood is thicker than water.

Though, I can't underdstand the context of your tagalog, your sentence construction is wrong. Probably, you're using Google Translation.... Hehehe... Control the bleeding of what?

Yes, lot's of experience, my own, several friends, and many, many acquaintances. One might be the exception, two might be a coincidence, three or more is a trend, and the trend seems to be holding. Swore I would never find myself in that situation, and now, I am just another victim of the Pinay!

Bingo! My biological translator is at work. At least it is her money going back home and not mine...Slow the flow of money back home...hard to say no to mommy.

The wife gets all depressed when she works so hard, and mommy keeps asking for more and more! She has two brothers in America. One has twelve kids back in the Philippines, and barely sends enough home to support them. The other brother got tired of hearing from mommy, and put her on a fixed allowance. He told her to stop complaining, he has his own family to raise, or he would cut that off as well. She has another sister in Taiwan. She just puts even more pressure on the wife to send mommy money. Mommy and daddy don't work - they quit the family business and moved into an apartment-- their kids are all married and living in America, or Taiwan. Mom wants to travel with her friends, and dad wants to play the lottery. That leaves just my wife for them to pressure for more and more.

Well, thats why there's benchmark on helping family. If it is emergency, needs cash right away, I don't mind sending my family. They didn't asked money from me on regular basis. I've been here for almost three years and I only sent once due to emergency.

Apparently, its kinda a cultural thing for parents in the Philippines to depend so much to their offsprings, esp kids abroad. Not letting them know how hard your life is and your needs, will make them think that everything is okay, therefore asking money is not a big deal.

Helping family during emergency is a different story. Though frequent emergency is a manipulation.

I got a couple of friends who have wifes, that have the more is never enough problem. Lucky I don't have the problem. I have sent some on occasion, and really don't mind sending some here and there, any more than I would mind sending to my own family, if they were in need. The incident I was talking about was when she had only been here 3 months and was timid to ask me. We are clear that if her Mom ever has a need she will ask me, and I will be glad to help.

Excellent. Not many wives can keep that balance between the two worlds, taking care of family back home, while keeping husband happy here in America, without going a little crazy. She is so dependent on you, yet feels that sense of obligation. That is a lot of stress to put on such narrow shoulders.

BTW: The one brother only has seven kids, not twelve. I just checked with the wife. "Too many kids, and his wive and her family too." Maybe that is where I came up with twelve mouths to feed. Poor guy is burning the candle at both ends. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
