Timeline

The whole Interview Process went pretty fast. It's just the waiting part that took a bit long. Will share my Experience as well, guys! Visajourney has really been a big help to both of us (me and my Fiance) if it weren't for visajourney I don't know how long this whole process would take us. I know we still have a long way to go... but at least we'll FINALLY be doing the next steps together :D So in return, I hope this could be of big help to those who have their upcoming Interview especially those at the US Embassy in Manila.

Here goes..

Arrived at the Embassy around 4am. Man! there were a lot of people esp. the sea men... At around 5am, we were all asked to form our line depending on the type of visa we're applying for. So there were 3 lines specifically the ones who are about to be on board on the Ship (Seaman), then another line for the tourist visa and third line were for the immigrants.. (k1, k2, etc.). We were the first ones to form the line and we were proceeded to the tent outside the Embassy. So here are the Steps:

1st: Prepare your DS Forms.

* DS 156 - 2 copies

* DS 156k - 1 copy

* DS 157 - 2 copies

* Appointment Schedule

* Passport

FYI.. they will place the passport in a seal and it must be opened on the first page (BIO page)

2nd: Scanning Area

* Be sure no Liquids (in ANY FORMS), Cellphones, and ROLEX Watch. You can't leave your things on the Security guard, they will ask you to get out of your line and leave your things to somebody (if you have someone with you that's waiting outside)

3rd: Ticket Booth

* You'll be forming a line to get your number assigned to you that you'll be holding on until the last step of your Interview.

4th: Submitting of Forms

* We were asked to proceed to the window 38 and place our Forms (DS 156, DS 156k, DS 157 and appointment letter)

5th: Fingerprint

* Take a seat and wait for your no. on the queuing board. Always look at the board, the no's. appear RANDOMLY.

* Once your number has flashed, you'll be proceeding to the specific window (mine was 41) and they'll ask you for your name and birth date.. then have your fingerprint

6th: Pre-Interview

* After fingerprinting, you'll be asked to take your seat and wait again for your no. to be flashed on the queuing board and the window that is assigned for you to be proceeding will also be in the board after your number.

* It was a Filipino who interviewed me and when I came near He looked kinda strict, and to the fact that he's quite in his late 50's.. A lot of things were coming into my mind to what he'll ask me or things I need to provide.. so when I approached him the first thing he said.. "what are the best hotels in Bacolod to held a Wedding Reception?" so my nervousness was quite gone right after the first question he asked that was basically far from what i expected :D

* So the things I provided were: My Birth Certificate (NSO), NBI, Cenomar, BPI receipt, Form I-134 w/supporting documents such as ITR and W2.I also gave him his bank statements as an addition.. (and wasn't able to give him as well my Fiance's recent pay stubs..) he actually said everything looks good right then and there. So after that he asked me to take a seat and wait for my FINAL interview.

....BTW, they never asked for my police clearance.. he told the consul on the Final Interview will be the one to ask it. but they never did :unsure:

anyhow, i was done with the whole thing at around 7am. it was really fast. and for the final interview they will open at around 8:30-9:00 am. So here goes the long wait.....

7th Step: FINAL Interview

* My number flashed around 9:45 am :blink: i was nervous as hell. Good thing we were together with other k1 applicants and we had to talk our experiences and stuff about our Fiance's and relationships.. So the waiting did not make us that Impatient :D

* When it was my turn, I proceeded to the Final Consul's window and she was really pretty (Chinese girl on her late 20's i guess) and she speaks good English. She had me pledge to tell the truth and blah2.. and I raised my right hand and answered YES. she had very few questions and most of the time she just typed on her computer. She asked my Fiance's name, His Work, When we're planning to get married, when do I plan to go to US, how we met and how long we've been together. and after those questions she typed a lot and after like 2minutes... she said "You're VISA is APPROVED, CONGRATULATIONS!" with a smile on her face :D OMG! the moment I heard her say that, I was on Cloud 9, i really can't believe I FINALLY HEARD THOSE WORDS being said to me from the Consul. It was a DREAM COME TRUE. after that I said "thank you so much" together with a BIG SMILE on my face that never went away.. up to the time that I went back to my seat and my New found Filipino Friends we're happy when they saw my BIG SMILE and told them, I'm approved! :))) it took me 2 days to let it sink into my mind that MY VISA WAS APPROVED.. It feels like i'm just dreaming the whole time! HAHA it only took less than 3 minutes all in all in the Final Interview..

moving on....:)))

8th and Last Step! Final Instructions

* After those "UNBELIEVABLE" VISA APPROVED words... they asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called to proceed to the next counter.. after 1-2minutes my number flashed and I went to the Counter and the Filipino guy told me that "You're good to go, we'll just mail you your Visa in your Address" asked if I can pick up, but they didn't give me the option to do so.. so after that, I went out the Embassy with a BIG SMILE on my face.. walking outside looking for my mom, and from afar, she could tell that I was approved because she said that I was smiling the whole time she saw me approaching her. :lol:

So that's pretty much about everything. Went out the Embassy 5minutes to 10am.. celebrated and extended my stay in Manila! :D and went SHOPPING baby! i had to celebrate! :D and it was my FIANCE's BIRTHDAY the day after! what a great advance Birthday gift to my LOVEEEYY!! (L)

GOOD LUCK to those who have their upcoming interview! be prepared and make sure all your papers are complete! God bless u all and yours will come soon as well! :))) PRAY always, GOD is really great! :D

congratulations...i can only hope ours goes as smooth.... :)
