As far as requiring a SSN to get married, I am under the impression that you can get it a few weeks after arriving. At least according to the flowchart it says that: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow

And if all goes well, it should take a few weeks to get the number. So maybe you won't be able to be married immediately, it seems like it's still doable in the 3 month time frame?

That depends on whether or not the SS office will give him one without a work permit... I don't think anyone here's had issues with that so far but they did tell me at the office in my town that he has to have work auth in order to be elligible for a SSN.

I believe what's happening is everyone's changing laws in the interest of national security but they don't realize (or care) that it affects how immigration law is written.

Thank you. This helps. We'll have a Plan B just in case the card doesn't come through in time.

ain't that the truth. two dang loops around it, i once drove 1604 halfway around and that took 90 minutes :o
