normally it's a 10yr visa....first time i'm hearing of a 2 yr visa.....what class visa is it?

I got my GC based on an F2B which later converted to an F2A. It took close to 10yrs during which I tried applying for the DV unsuccessfully. My GF who is a first time applicant got selected for DV2015! We're keeping our fingers crossed.

a friend of mine got a US tourist b2 visa for only one year. She said probably because her English wasn't great. I went for an interview and got one for 10 years. Different cases, different durations I suppose.
