We're both born and raised in Iran. I came to USA 19 years ago. He left there 7 years ago and immigrated to Germany.

What makes him stand out... he is compassionate, caring and has a great sense of humor... I miss him soooo much :crying:

San Antonio.

I was thinking the pollster specifically wanted a ME/NA sampling -- I thought it was evident because all the options given are ME/NA countries (or ME/NA "friendlies" :P )

Yes that was the one for "ME/NA friendlies" (I am being charitable here. )

Is your dad retired military ? Got a lot of them here.

My dad still gets saluted by the trainees -- even though he's not in uniform -- just wearing civvies walking down the Riverwalk. I asked him -- HOWWWW do they KNOW ????? He says oh they'll salute anything they're all scared sh*tless. (I think there's more to it than that.... they KNOW.)

Well yeahhh -- the trainees have to wear their uniforms pretty much most of the time when they're out in public, so it's kind of easy to spot 'em :P

(Plus the basic training 'do is a dead giveaway.)

What I can't figure out is how they always seem to know my dad is someone they maybe might oughta salute when he's in "citizen camouflage." I guess it's something about "the look" he gives them.
