when you filed your taxes and send the 1040 to the irs. they work on your tax returns,you can order a tax transcript from the irs for that year, it has all the information on it and proof that it was filed.it's better to have tax transcripts. go to your nearest IRS office get the tax transcripts the same day,

When you order from this link, you will get a tax transcript. When you receive it, look at the top of the page it will have "Tax Return Transcript".
