Hi

I've received my EAD today and I was wondering if I would be able to go to the driving centre with my SSC in my maiden name or whether I should get my name changed on that first?

Thanks in advance

I would ask you local DVM how long the DL is valid with an EAD. Typically they DL will expire when the document used as proof expires or the maximum length of time for a DL is reached. Your EAD expires next year, so I bet the DL will expire next year. Your DL will expire when the GC expires will be my bet too. The SSC does not expire, and you need that for all kinds of things in the US, so I wold concentrate on getting that in the name you want. Some DMVs require SSC and EAD or GC names to match, you might ask them about that too.

When I received my EAC I went to DMV first with my passport and SSC still under my maiden name. As long as you have your marriage certificate to show name change. They understand that I didnt change my SSC card yet cause they know it would take days to change it :)
