We had received an RFE that was looking for my full tax form for 2011. I had sent my W2’s. Now I am sending my 1040A tax return form and a transcript that was faxed to me from the IRS. Is this what they are looking for? I’m sending it today, so I want to make sure. :help:

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

10.28.2010 - Biometrics appointment received, dated 10/22 - set for 11/19 @ 3:00 PM
11.01.2010 - Successful biometrics walk-in @ 9:45 AM; EAD card sent for production text/email @ 2:47 PM! I-485 case status now available online.

We had received an RFE that was looking for my full tax form for 2011. I had sent my W2's. Now I am sending my 1040A tax return form and a transcript that was faxed to me from the IRS. Is this what they are looking for? I'm sending it today, so I want to make sure. :help:

That is why the guides recommend the transcript from the IRS as it is the complete tax return plus it is what was actually submitted to the IRS--no way to fake it. If you send in photo copies of your 1040 you need to include all documentation which is W-2's, 1099, and all the schedules you file. Since my tax return is rather complex the transcript is the best way to go. It is free and takes about 5-10 business days or you can have it faxed to you.

So send in the tax transcripts as your response to the RFE.

If it is a complete transcript (should include info about your W-2s as well as your 1040s etc.) then yes.

Ok, so I have included the Tax Return Transcript that they faxed me yesterday. That is enough?

As I remember from an earlier discussion, sending in your 1040 in addition to the IRS

transcript is not really necessary. Anyone can produce a 1040 form that may or may

not have been actually filed. The IRS transcript shows that the IRS officially recognized

your tax filing and displays the relevant numbers.

For our "lifting conditions" filing I sent in transcripts from the last 2 years, even though

they only asked for tax info from the last year. When we filed for the provisional green

card 2.5 years ago, I just sent in the previous year's tax transcript (which was joint with

my Thai wife).

I guess you already sent in the docs, but be sure to BLACK OUT your SSN's - you don't

need to have your most intimate personal data on papers that may be seen by more

than just one person.
