I'm here...but I have yet to receive my Case number and Invoice Number. Speaking of, will the Invoice number be the same for the DS-230 as well as the I-864? I've always thought they were paid seperately...so why are we asking the NVC for only one Invoice Number?

Also, got an email from NVC today...it says

MAIL: Written quesions about a case should be sent to:

National Visa Center

Attn: WC

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 200

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915

FORMS, documents and photographs should be sent to:

NATIONAL VISA CENTER

Attn: CMR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Just and FYI!

You only get one IIN. This is used to sign into the payment portal (along with your case number). Once you're signed in, then you can choose which bills you want to pay from there.

Guys,

I just got this RFE from NVC. I submitted my DS230 with the IV documents and it was delivered last Monday. I called earlier today and they said they have not received the documents. Should I ignore this RFE?

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case.

The Principal Applicant and any other Applicants who will be accompanying him or her to the United

States must now download and complete an Immigrant Visa Application; please visit the following

website for instructions:

http://immigrantvisas.state.gov (click on the link for "submit Visa application and civil documents")

Please submit the Immigrant Visa Application form(s) and required supporting documents for each

Applicant in one package to the National Visa Center; sending this information separately will delay

your visa.

[E1P 06/29/2012]

It's a false checklist. It was generated due to them reviewing and accepting your AOS package.

Getting a little concerned - NVC still hasn't received our file. Has anyone with an NOA2 date past June 8th have had their file received by the NVC? The NVC Tracking spreadsheet seems a little thin on data points for this.

Last two agents I spoke to suggested scanning my NOA2 and emailing it in for investigation. I shall do that this weekend.

It's still taking a month from NOA2 date to getting a case number assigned. The data is clear with the spreadsheet.

     IV Package reviewed today. CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!

Grats! kicking.gif

I read through the thread and was a really helpful read. I guess I should start preparing my AOS and IV docs now while I am waiting for NVC case number. I wonder:

1. if my pay stubs and employement letters are scaned and inserted into the PDF file, do I need to give the originals to my wife so when she goes for the interview she can show the originals?

2. for DS-230 I just download from the state.gov website right? fill out all except the signature of Part II?

3. I want to front-load some pictures with the DS-230, because I didn't include any picture in my I-130 :bonk: So, I would just make a huge PDF which includes DS-230 pack and then a bunch of pictures in the same PDF, and I have to make sure the final PDF is no more than 10m size? I am thinking this could be hard. :crying: Can I make 2 PDFs one is for the DS-230 pack and the other PDF just pictures of me and my wife??

Thanks so much guys.

1. You have to bring ALL originals that you scanned and submitted to NVC.

2. Yup, just download it from here: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf Fill out everything, and sign part 1 only. Part 2 is signed at the interview in front of an officer.

3. Darnell suggests sending NVC a bunch of emails for front-loading like this:

First email: bar-coded cover sheet and proof of relationship

Second email: DS-230 and proof of relationship

Third email: Police certificate and proof of relationship

Fourth email: Passport-style pictures and proof of relationship

Etc, etc.

USPS said last 25, but dsnt mean that they will start process after that, that's why we need to call, in my case IV not receive yet according to the system.

As per other senior VJ members, NVC will update AOS or IV status only after they have completed the review process. Until then you will get a standard response from operator to wait for 20 business days.

HI all, finally received my Noa2.

Now I am trying to understand the procedure at NVC. And after reading the links in the first page I got a few confusions. Here is what I think I should do, thanks for any help!

1. after a week of Noa2 date, start calling NVC until I get a NVC case #, then ask for the Invoice # and give them both email addresses.

2. I should receive the DS 3032 in my email? And I should email it back with "OPTIN .." in the subject to join the EP??

Here I am confused because when I read this:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing

in the "Speedbumps..." it says: "...If you call in to NVC, to get your GUZ case number, the Tele-Operators are trained (for paper processing ) to send you a DS-3032 kit. This kit consists of a non-fillable DS-3032 in PDF format, a fee bill for 70 bucks, and a barcode thing. IT'S OK TO PAY THIS BILL ONLINE, but do not do anything with the DS-3032 that you receive. It's the wrong one."

What does this mean?

a) Where am I supposed to get the "good" DS 3032?

b) when am I suppose to enroll EP for Guangzhou? I read if I do it at the wrong time may cause "significant delay".

3. in the mean time I should receive email about some AOS bill and probably IV bill and I will just pay them.

Thanks everybody.

recheck the forms section in that wiki page. The 'good' DS-3032 is linked there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Answers:

1. Print the PDF file you will email to the NVC and give it to your wife, she will have to submit it at document intake.

2. Correct

3. If you have access to a computer that has the full version of Acrobat, you can use that program to shrink the size of the PDF.

Have you called them back up to see what's going on?

Grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Yeah, very often, after reviewing and accepting a package, they issue a checklist for the other package, even if it's in the building already (they don't check). So, if you do get a false checklist (checklist asking for the other package), then you can assume quite safely that the package has been accepted.

Since your NOA2 date is only June 8th, you still have about 2 weeks left. It's currently taking NVC about a month from NOA2 date to assign case numbers.

Well, first off, you'll be getting the AOS invoiced before the IV one.

I suggest looking at other timelines in this thread to see how long on average it took for people to receive (in business days) the AOS bill after case number, but if I remember correctly, it's typically a few business days. In your case, you're only on your third business day. You do have to give it some time. If by Friday though you don't have the AOS, then call up NVC and inquire.

The only time the two are invoiced at the same time is if there's a lawyer/attorney attached to the case. They're automatically designated as agent, so no DS-3032 needs to be sent in.

DS-3032? You should have sent the DS-261 actually as Canada does online forms (DS-261, DS-260). It's not a huge deal as some Canadians do still send the DS-3032.
