Hope someone can advise me on this. I called NVC today after sending DS 230 (I haven’t get the check list yet). I did send them original copy of my marriage certificate in English. I never got a copy in my native language, neither one was issued in my native language. Now NVC is asking me for original copy which I don’t have. Do you think if I can get one certificate in Native language will full fill their requirement? NVC customer service wasn’t much help when I explained her situation.

Thanks in advance for your help!

FINALLY!!!! Interview Date: August 28 @ 8:30AM!!

But that's 2 months away  jeeeeeez

Now that you HAVE an interview date, you can contact the IV unit and ASK for an EARLIER date.

Good Luck !

DS-3032? You should have sent the DS-261 actually as Canada does online forms (DS-261, DS-260). It's not a huge deal as some Canadians do still send the DS-3032.

======================

Yes I did the ds-261 not the ds-3032. I swear I dream about all of these form numbers at night.

If you are doing EP with NVC, ya never, ever, send in the DS-3032.

If'n ya do, that gets you on a different track, and NVC will be expecting PAPER sent in via POSTAL mail.

What's up?

Darnell, remember that EP and online forms are two different processes. The DS-261 is part of the online forms process. EP is just emailing in the AOS and IV packages.

Oh No! It's time for my monthly semantics debate on EP for Canada.

Who won last month? I need to revisit that mini thread in the May Topic ;)

ok, both u and Saylin have said that we can request an earlier interview date.

I don't remember reading about this so I'm not sure of this process.

Do I need to have a valid reason for this or just ask and hope for the best?

I see u said contact IV unit, I remember seeing an e-mail address for contacting IVBogotaembassy something like that, is that what you mean?

Sorry for being totally clueless but would appreciate the help :)

Thank you.

I would give it a week or so so that your file is already at the embassy, I tried to change mine right away and was given the runaround. A week later I was able to change it no problem. I found a contact # through one of the threads (June interviews?) and called Montreal directly because they never answer their email, I'm not sure of the process for Bogota.

WOW I just read from pages 59-75 seems like ive dissapared for longer than i thought.

SO nice too see NVC handing out interview dates like peice of cake. It makes life So less stressful.

WHen i got my interview date assigned I had 1mth &2week till that day, now i only have 3 more weeks to wait. I know many of you think your date is so far away but having that time helps you go in properly prepared and makes you a "little" more calmer.

Since my time off VJ.com:

Im nesting lolll- yep making the house pefect for my hubby.

Changing the branch (not company) i work at so i can be closer to home.

Next week he should be receiving my 20 pound box of evidence and the AOS Packet.

5 more days till the medical.

Counting down the 20 days we have left till the interview.

VJ.com and all its current members, passed members, Trindad members and of course Saylin has not only made this journey simple but Understandable. NVC or USCIS tells you to do something and then you come to VJ.com and u understand y they need you to do something. I love this site and i recommend it to everyone.

ADVICE to alot of ppl madly in love with a simply stright fwd case- NO LAWYER NEEDED save that money to buy a nice expensive bottle of bubbly to celebrate after POE.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERY ONE AND TO US :)

this is not good bye.. i just feel emotional at the moment lolll it's a womans thing.

Wow! blink.gif Glad we didn't have to worry about a hotel or airfare for my case (I lived only 40 minutes away from the consulate and panel physician). And my husband brought his AOS papers on his lastvisit to me in Canada, so he didn't need to mail me anything.

Hello everyone! All fees are paid yay! now...i called the NVC for the issue that i have with my birth certificate and marriage certificate. I told them that i sent the original ones (I have copies of the originals and the translations of them)and i wanted to know if they had them.

The agent i spoke with assured me that the USCIS sent the entire file to the NVC, and in this case what i should do is to email them or send them a letter asking to review my case for those documents.

I already sent an email, but i remember saylin told me i should also fill a form and i can´t remember if it was D260 or some other form.

Anywho...i want to know what is faster...to ask for the original docs or to certified the copies that i already have. I need to send with the IV bill package. I know i screw up by sending the original ones...i actually was told i should by someone who supposed to know a lot about this and helps people from my country to get everything together, but now im just thinking she wanted me to do that in order to get more money from me.

I just really dont want to be wasting time...i want to be with him in september max.

help please

I'd suggest getting certified copies while you're waiting for NVC to respond. There's no guarantee they'll find your originals or accept them.

When you send your IV package, mention in your cover letter about what you did and see if they can review the originals that USCIS sent. You can include the regular copies you have, to see if that helps. If you do get a checklist for originals/certified copies, you should have gotten the certified copies by then to send in.
