DOS = Department of State

They have access to your file while it's at NVC and later at the consulate/embassy. So both NVC and DOS will be able to tell you if an interview date has been scheduled.

My wife's interview date has finally been assigned, she will have her interview on Thursday, August 2 which seems pretty far away (and took nearly a month to be assigned.) We have been unlucky concerning the length of time of our immigration journey but it will be ending soon I hope! All that's left is for her to get a medical exam, which should be simple since she already lived in the US so I imagine she already has all the necessary vaccinations, and the actual interview which apparently can be very hard in Vietnam.

No, not that I have seen. You have to call NVC every day and ask for updates on your case to find out if a package has been reviewed and accepted.

And how! I don't know what I would do without the knowledge and support of Saylin and the other VJ folks. Probably implode out of sheer frustration.

Congratulations to everyone who has received good news today!

Our IV fee was accepted today and we are now completely paid up. Frustratingly, I'm still awaiting my 2011 tax transcript, as well as my husband's packet o' forms. Hopefully the transcript will be here in a day or so. And my husband promises to have his stuff express mailed to me by Monday. So I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to drop both packets into the mail around the 1st few days of July. A case complete would be a great birthday gift for the both of us, as our birthdays fall on the 11th and 14th of July. Here's hoping!

Ugh, I'm going through the same thing, haven't even gotten my case number but waiting on paperwork to come in the mail is making me nervous! Haha. That does sound like a great birthday present.
