Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: LND********* filed by ********** on behalf of ***********.

Thank you - (and i meant to ask when the beneficiary should send it, not when i should...)

They are not having an eye on who's typing this email before it's sent. All they care is that email was sent from beneficiary's email account. I and many other petitioner sent this email from their spouse (i.e. beneficiary) email account.

Question for all of you.....the NVC will never tell me perse that my case is closed, right? I have to call them to make sure of that? Also....about how long after you sent in the stuff requested on a checklist (and assuming everything is ok), did you guys get case completed?

Thanks!

For non-EP folk, no, you don't get a case complete email. You have to call the operator to find out.

And I believe it's a week or so (just like with packages) for a checklist to be reviewed.

Hi All

Finally my case completed 2.just talk to operator and she says case was complete on 19 june. now i have to call back second week of july to get my interview date..is that right??i have to wait for next month second week...

Grats!

Start calling tomorrow (and everyday afterwards) to find out if an interview date has been assigned. They schedule interviews all month long.

Hello all...silly question  We have our interview scheduled for July 18th. I keep reading about interview fees of $450.00.. Is this true or does this only apply to K1 visas?

That's just for K1s. For IR-1/CR-1s, there are no fees at the consulate/embassy. Well, there could be a courier fee, but that's it.

:D Hooray - We have been assigned an NVC case number and an Invoice Identification number today! Phew!

I have read the guides, but see conflicting information about when the petitioner should email the DS_3032 Choice of Agent. Saylin's FAQ says

"When can I email the DS-3032?

Right after you get your case number. (my emphasis) There's a chance it could get rejected (because they got to your email before they're ready to take documents), but if that's the case, just re-send it. On the flip side, there's also a chance it could get accepted and you wouldn't have wasted any time. "

BUT

LingChe's Shortcuts say:

"6. Send DS-3032 to continue processing.

The DS-3032 AKA Choice of Agent, is the form that indicates who will pay the bills and accept other documents from NVC.

Once all documents are fully loaded in, the AVR message MIGHT change.

Operators will be able to tell you if the DS-3032 has been generated.

If the DS-3032 has been generated, you can email it [8] or use the instructions at the top of this guide to create your own barcode cover-sheet.

Attempts to send DS-3032 via email may or may not receive an automated response...but the automated response does not mean it's been accepted.

Due to SPAM filters at NVC, if you do not get an automated response immediately, either switch to a different email account or mail the DS-3032.

Once accepted, you will get an email message...or you can confirm with operator.

Attempts to mail or email DS-3032 before it's been generated are useless. It's like trying to pay a water bill for a house that hasn't been built yet.

The auto response email just means that they accepted your email. It doesn't mean they can do anything with it.

It's a good idea to mail AND email the DS-3032""

Saylin, if you are out there, can you tell me when and what we should do with the DS-3032, or can someone else? The NVC, of course, says "wait until you hear from us."

SO VERY HAPPY to have the number assigned. It is amazing how patience comes and GOES in this process. hey - today is the first day of Summer!

Heather

It's up to you when you want to send it. I always suggest emailing it right after getting a case number, because most of the time, by the time they get around to your email, they're ready for document intake. It's not common to get a rejection for the DS-3032. If you do, then you simply email them again. By sending it right away, you're not wasting any time. So, the question is, do you want to waste or save time?

All is this the email stating they have accepted the DS3032?

That's it, grats! kicking.gif

OK. Have read the guides and the NVC site again - let me see if I have understood:

If I understand correctly, once the beneficiary has emailed the DS-3032, I start haunting the NVC payment portal, trying to log on day and night until I succeed? (In other words, I do NOT wait for an email from NVC saying "We got your DS-3032" or "Your AOS bill is ready to be paid", since I may be able to log on and pay before they get around to emailing me?) Then I pay whichever bill is there to pay (the Affidavit of Support fee bill first, if I understand), print the resulting bar code and stick it on top of my AOS document pile, and then ship my Affidavit of Support package overnight to the NVC?

Then I go back to haunting the payment portal, logging on or trying to log on again until I am able to log on and pay the IV bill, at which point my beneficiary logs on, prints the barcode, slaps it on top of his IV docs, and ships the IV package from (in our case) London to the NVC? Can the beneficiary log onto the payment portal after I have paid and logged off and print the barcode, or will I have to print it when I pay and then scan it to him?

My apologies if this is blindingly obvious when you are actually doing it - I am trying to know what to do before, so I don't have to wing anything.

That's pretty much it yes.gifgood.gif

One note though: you can only send the AOS and IV packages once the respective bill is showing as PAID in the payment portal.

And yes, the beneficiary can sign onto the payment portal and print the IV bar-coded cover sheet out.

NVC won't generate IV invoice until they have accepted DS-3032 email sent by beneficiary. There is no issue to keep checking NVC payment portal every day, but you should set your expectations in right order for this :)

CASE COMPLETE!!! Exactly one week after DS-230 package was delivered.

The operator asked me to call back around July 20. I asked why so long? She said July interviews have been scheduled already. August interviews will be scheduled in mid-July. And before I could ask a couple more questions ... "Thank you for calling the National Visa Center, Goodbye [Click]". Rude!

Ok, I'll call back tomorrow then :P
