I agree. From my experience I must say that calling them everyday does not expedite your processing at NVC. You will only get to know something immediately when there is an update.

FROM MY EXPERIENCE ALSO CALLED SEVERAL TIMES PER DAY, LIKE MY CASE NUMBER CALLED NOON TIME 1ST OPERATOR SAID THAT NO CASE NUMBER YET, THEN I CALLED 2 HOURS AFTER SAME DAY 2ND OPERATOR GAVE ME THE CASE NUMBER BUT SHE SAID NO IIN YET, CALLED AGAIN AFTER 2 HOURS, 3RD OPRATOR GAVE THE CASE NUMBER AGAIN AND THE IIN. S THATS WHY WE ARE HERE TO SHARE EXP.

I am sure you will have your AOS invoice available at any time and hopefully tomorrow

Should I attach a cover letter in my AOS package? Or just include all required documents along with NVC AOS cover letter in it?

I have also got my paystubs from January till today for this year. Should I just add last 2 months paystubs?

I always suggest including a cover letter. It makes it clear what's in the package and in what order. Plus, if you need to add any notes or explain anything, that's where you'd put it.

For pay stubs, does yours show a YTD (year-to-date) amount? If so, then you really only need to send the most recent one.

oh i don't know about the medicals yet.. when will it be possible to have the medical? as soon as the case # is assigned? what do we need to bring?

As soon as we have the MNL case number, I think. But I'm not going for medicals until about a week before our interview date - to save up on plane fare.

Here are the requirements for SLEC:

-Valid passport

-Photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information

-4 pieces recent 2x2 visa photos

-Appointment letter from the Embassy or Instruction letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), if available,

-2 photocopies of your Appointment Letter/ Instruction Letter

And take note, you CANNOT have your medical if you have your period.

Also, you can register on-line, but it will still be on a first-come first-served basis when you get there. Registering online just cuts the waiting time for filling out forms. Here's the link: http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/

Thanks Saylin! Just started to write a cover letter as per your suggestion :)

Regarding pay stubs it includes pretty much all needed information:

YTD salary

Work Location

Home Location

Last 4 digits of my SSN

401K contribution

Employer Stocks

ESPP stocks contribution

Health Insurance Credit from Employer

YTD paid vacation accrued

and more.......

I think these information is more than NVC may need to verify my salary. Is that correct?

Wooooo! Finally got our NVC case #!

On a side note, I have to agree with others....what is the deal with the nasty NVC operators?! Tonight I waited 32 minutes on hold to speak with this angry woman, she declined to provide her name. She read the case number to me, and when I asked if I could repeat it to verify, she lets out this long sigh....and says "Fine." I ask if I may have the Invoice ID number, and she says, "MA'AM, that case was JUST put in the system, you need to call back in a week at least". I asked for the Beneficiary ID number (longshot), and I get the "MA'AM...I don't even have access to that." Ok then.

You know, when I was younger, I worked for a call center for a major cell phone service provider. Treating my customers that way would have resulted in a reprimand at the minimum.

I would call back again tonight, but I'm afraid I'd want to find a way to shove a frying pan through the phone....

You were NOT supposed to send any originals to USCIS. It states so in the instructions. You're probably going to have to file a G-884 (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=dccb5d4c6608e010VgnVCM1000000ecd190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD ) to request them back.

In the meantime, can you get certified copies of the original documents you sent in? NVC accepts originals or certified copies.

Thanks Saylin! Just started to write a cover letter as per your suggestion :)

Cool, yours states the YTD amount. Just make a photocopy of your most recent pay stub and highlight that YTD amount yes.gif
