just got off the phone with NVC operator and heard the same line "We received your case in last week and it takes 10 to 20 business days to get into our system."

My case reached NVC on May 28th. How many days should I expect from NVC to get into their system and issue a case number?

Happy Thursday everyone :goofy:

Has anyone ever heard of not having enough slots open for appointments? The operator at DOS explained to me that because of the negative relations between US and Cuba the Embassy in Havana is only staffed with 3 or 4 agents. If they gave us an appointment for September or October even though that date seems so far off, at least we would have something to look forward to. The way NVC has left things open leaves me feeling very anxious. Is waiting the only option we have, or does anyone know if there anything I can do?

just keep calling everyday, California petitioners usually take 9days to 15days to get a case number. according to the signatures of other users.

i'm ecstatic..elated..Thank God!!!!i just can't contain my happiness...my husband just got an email from NVC with our case number...we didn't get any info from uscis yet and we do have a service request and asked assistance from the senator and congressman...so when i thought getting the petition approved is taking forever, God sent our case straight to nvc without us having to wait for another month for a case number...i'm so happy... now i can join this thread..yahooo!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

I want to take a moment to thank everyone in this forum who contributed with their unselfish and objective advise to reach our goal. This Visa is not the product of our research alone but a combined effort of a group of people who go day to day looking for information to make their ways ahead into this tedious and long process. To All of You who are at the NVC stage ensure you have all your paperwork sorted out and double check everything before you put "that package" in the mail. It is very dissapointing having to get an email from NVC telling to resend or resubmit this or that and having to wait another extra chunk of time. :thumbs:
