I understand that when you are travelling from 1 US state to another, you do not need to bring your passport but only a valid ID (or in my case I would bring my greencard just in case). BeforeI came here I renewed my passport that means it is under my maiden name and when I got married I applied for a AOS and got my greencard. I wanted to carry my husband's last name so the last name is my GC is my husband's last name.

Now here's my concern:

1. I am scheduled to travel to Netherlands (for work) in October, I would be applying for a visa but I will be using my maiden name since that's what's indicated in my passport, right?

2. Upon return, would US immigration officers still let me? I would be bringing my GC, is that enough proof that I can get in the US again?

3. My sister is getting married in December in the Philippines, do I need to apply for a waiver or something to go back to PH and how about going back to the US, will the US immigration officer allow me to enter the US soil again?

Please share any of your experiences and thoughts. I am planning to call or make an infopass soon just in case.

Thanks!!!

Just bring your marriage certificate to show you married if the CBP has an issue with a diff name on GC and passport.

I traveled to Toronto several times with my passport in my maiden name (I have since changed it to my married name because my husband booked a ticket under that name!) and my green card with my married name. I just showed my marriage license and had no issues. My husband was with me at that time, but I doubt it would have been a problem if I were traveling alone.

Finally married... and still married... ;)
