My fiance and I are wanting to get married on January 12th. Coincidentally, both of our parents were married on that date also, and we want to continue the tradition. I have all the paperwork ready for the I-129f and before I submit it, do you think it will be approved by January for her to come to the US and get married? Or should we marry in India and apply for a Spouse visa? I would prefer to get married here and reduce the time we're away, but don't want to break the tradition.

If you really don't want to risk messing up the date I would say forget the K-1 and just start planning the wedding now for in India and file the spousal visa after. That is the only way you can be 100% sure you will marry on the day you want.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

It's hard to say. Planning a wedding in January and applying for a K-1 in June is cutting it really close. You MIGHT get petition approval(NOA2) in 5 months. Maybe 6, 7 or maybe less than 5. 5 months is the goal/average. Then, you have to factor in the time it takes to forward approved petition to NVC (~a couple of weeks). Then, the time it takes to be forwarded to the embassy(~another couple of weeks). I can't decide which route for you, but as a K-1 petitioner, I certainly wouldn't plan a wedding that close.

Welcome to the forum.

If you filed your K-1 petition today, and had no RFEs or other problems, you may get your NOA2 sometime in November or December, You may have a chance of receiving your visa in January or February. That is assuming that all of the planets line up in perfect alignment, the ocean tides and winds are favorable....etc. There are too many variables outside of your control to accurately predict if and when you would get your visa.

The general recommendation here is to never try to make this immigration process fit into your schedule, as that you will likely end up being very frustrated and disappointed. This immigration process will grind along at its own pace, it is better to make your specific wedding plans only after you have your visa in your hand. If that doesn't fit into your plans, look into the spousal visas. This is a very often discussed topic.
