Put case number on the "COD number or Used For" Line

Also: You might get more replies if your profile had more information on it. It helps understand your situation more if you fill in the blanks like, (Immigration Status), (Location), (Local Office), (Country Non-US spouse from)...

I am surprised that they dont accept personal checks for AOS generation fee.

Anyone here used a money order?

Where do you put the case number in money order??

I just mailed mine today about 2 hours ago. In the letter I receieved (a copy sent by my lawyer), it only states that the case number be "written on the front of the check" . It does not give specifics, and picky as these people are, had they wanted it to be done a certain way, I am sure they would have said so.

I just wrote mine near the top of the money order, in a space clear enough that they would see it.

I'm a little confused. Is this fee for the I-864? Or something else? If so, how much is the fee?

Can you point out to me where it states that a fee is necessary. Because I'm doing the K-1 visa for my fiancee, and I'm on the USCIS webpage, specifically on the page for the AOS. Here it is:

I can't find where it says a fee is necessary. But I can be confused, so if you can point this out for me it would be great. Thx

Lou,

The fee referred to is for the AOS Bill (I-864) which is part of the process for those applying for an immigrant visa e.g. CR-1. It does not apply for K visa applicants.

No, NVC does not accept personal check for AOS, IV Fee. They accept money order/cashier check drawn on a US bank. You can write your case number on the top right hand corner.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
