Younger = spoiled, demanding, foolish

Older = mean, miserly, boring

Which is why I may not be getting any younger, but I'm refusing to grow old. My wife laughs at me because I started counting my age backwards at a certain year. I just told her by the time I get Alzheimer's, I'll be counting the right mental age :rofl:

I did that too, when I hit 50 and starting counting backwards. The wife and I should be the same age in a few years.

Age is a factor too many don't want to admit matters.

Young[er]: Defiant; the world is your oyster.

Old[er]: Compliant; the world is what you make of it.

Young - Untrained, Untouched, no baggage..... And let's make it very clear that a 21 year old filipina is not the same as a 21 year old Americana!!!!!! Many oysters in the world to choose from, its how you season it and spice it up which derives the taste you want!

Sorry, but the "Untrained, Untouched" is a late-bloomers fantasy that's really overrated and kind of creepy. If a 21 y/o girl anywhere is still that way, it's not because of morals or last-minute resistance; it's because nonody's ever tried. But if that's your thing, throw some patis on it and shuck away...

Just curious... if there are "Many oysters in the world to choose from", why go halfway around the world to pick one when there are many here already? Don't the seasonings and spices work just the same? LOL

Is this comparing forum??? Let's just respect each others nationality, way of living/lifestyle and routine. My husband is american and never compare...we respect each other's alot and I respect his Country. I thought this Vj site is for updating IV and NIV etc...but seems to be not because of comparing other's life. Let's just respect this site.

This is the Philippine sub-forum... anything we choose as a topic is pretty much fair game. Now if it were the K-1 or such forum that would be different.

a Difference i noticed...

In America, A dad jingles the car keys saying "who wants to go for ice cream?" then loads up the gang, and drives for some 15 to 30 minutes to the local drive-in for ice cream cones....

In Philippines, a dad asks who wants ice cream (or frozen milk), then sends one of the kids to go get for everyone from the local sari-sari (on credit)....and pays for it later on....

Not a general thing. Had to react cause you said- "In the Philippines"..

Maybe next time, you can say- "In my wife's province/barrio", or something... Just a suggestion, just so you don't mislead others.

Stop stereotyping! I don't know where you base all your 'observations'. If that's how your wife's family does it then say so. You make it sound like everybody in the Philippines is the same way LOL ...:bonk:

In America, people use toilet paper and that's done!

In the Philippines, people use "tabo" or bidet to wash themselves clean and that's done!

Well I'm not a late-bloomer and don't know why that statement would be creepy?? Please elaborate?

And at the time I met my fiancee, I would have had to go half way around the world to find one, where you are now. Already had one where you are now. And no matter how you wanted to spice up my ex, the taste wouldn't get any better!!!!!

They says God Bless America or The Freedom Country. I was too curious about this. why freedom country? why god bless america? When i came here, there was no freedom coz lots of laws. In the philippines, you can punch someone right away, or grab her hair, or pinch her, slap her face.....thats freedom without being afraid of the law. In america, if your mad to a person, you can't even punch him right away, kick his #### coz of so many laws to be followed. God bless America???? i think its God bless PHILIPPINES right now. There are so many foreigner marrying filipina women coz they want to retire in the Philippines and live like a King and Queen and own a house and lot with 3 story concrete house with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, plus driver, and a houshelper which they can't do here in america. I'm proud to be a filipino. Hurray PHILIPPINES!!!

:huh: Huh? I'm Filipino and have been there (in the province) more than a handful of times. Maybe not as much others, but I grew up "Filipino" to the point of knowing how to cut cane, pick otong/sitaw, fish with nets, and kill a pig or goat and preparing it for cooking on a wood "stove". That is the reality of the places I visit even today. I can say that I've experienced the same level of poverty as any of these people do today.
