We filed for a K-1 previously, and the wait time listed was about 3 months. Now if I search the CA service center, it lists 5 months!! Is this accurate, does anyone know? Has anyone filed recently? What was your experience?

I waited less then 4 months, filed in October 2011.

5 months to NOA2 is a little lengthy. It always says that. I think mine took about 2-3. Seems I stared in June and had her here in Early Nov. It varies. good luck

It's not a little lengthy at all right now. In fact, if someone got their NOA2 before the five month mark, they should consider themselves lucky.

I know I will be happy to have it at the 5 months mark. The average has been around 5 months more consistently than not for at least a couple of years (when I started learning about the K-1). I think 3 months is lucky. If it reaches 6, THEN, I will start getting a little concerned.

We got our NOA2 at 147 days, that sounds pretty close to five months to me.

The real story is to not get fixated on NOA2, sure it is important. However, that is merely one step of many in the immigration journey. At present, we are gearing up for her upcoming consulate interview. Hopefully, she will pass the interview, receive the visa, and then onto the next steps in the immigration process.

We are thankful for our success thus far, and pray for more good fortune. The other day we were doing our usual, skypeing, and we came to the agreement that this whole visa process has helped our relationship grow, both of us are working together toward a common goal. Hopefully that will be only a prelude to our lives together.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

YMMV.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Took us 4.6 months (Late october to mid march). Some people luck out and get it really fast, some get it in the shown processing time, and some hit roadbumps for whatever reason. Good luck!

I would agree that 5 months isn't that uncommon right now. We waited 147 days which is pushing that 5 month mark pretty close. If you search the time lines you will see that there are a few exceptions but the normal currently is pretty much in the 143 + day range with California currently being a little slower than Vermont
