Hello,

My ex wife and I were together for about 12 years and we had applied for a Spouse Visa, we were just one interview away from getting it done but let's just say that a lot of things went sour and we decided to get a divorce.

The divorce still hasn't gone through and I want to apply for a Tourist Visa because I have reasons to Travel to the US (my mother, she's an US Resident) and I've been looking forward to spend this upcoming Xmas with her.

So I'm wondering if given my current situation, if it's still possible to apply for a Tourist Visa and what might the chances be of getting it.

Thanks in advance.

Yes

No idea

1. Yes, you can get a tourist visa.

2. Chances depend largely on two factors. What consulate/embassy are you applying at? And what are your ties to your home country?

If you were married to an American, but only 11 - 12 years later decided to apply for a spousal via, i think it will play to your benefit rather than to your disadvantage. A good idea might be to bring your marriage certificate and any divorce papers. It shows you lived in your country for 11 years and didn't apply for any immigration benefits.
