Assembling AOS package

Hey everyone,

I posted this on the NVC forum, but haven't had any luck. Am posting it here now, hoping that since this forum gets more traffic that someone will be able to help.

It seems many people are waiting for the precious case number from the slow NVC, us included.

In the meantime I am getting all the papers together so when I get it I can send them out crazy fast. One quesiton I have though is how to compile the AOS packet. Not only will we include the i-864 from me, the petitioner, but also proof of domicile (credit card bills, student loan payments, voter registration) , past taxes and pay stubs but ALSO we will include our joint sponsors stuff too - the i-864, tax receipts (gotta take the staples out still!) , pay stubs, proof of citzenship and such.

It's looking to be a lot of papers and I can't seem to find out how the NVC likes the package. Are the ACCO fastners that USCIS likes usable for NVC too? I don't want any papers falling out for fear of an RFE but wanted to ask how everyone else has submitted a fat stack of papers for the AOS stage. Any advice or experience would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Amanda

Ok I don't wanna be a snob and just read your question without leaving my input. I am not quite sure about the right way to do it yet. Hopefully I will get that answer when another senior member responds. But as of now what I have done with my DS-230 (which is all I did thus far) is properly number the pages and when i get my case number i would right it on the right hand side of each page submitted. i used a huge paper clip to keep my stack of 15 pages together. remember all I did so far is my DS-230. We just got our approval letter for the I-130

Hmmmm the clip sounds good for the DS 230 but my i-864 is gonna be about 50 pages I think hahah! Thanks for the input and hopefully figure out a good way to do it.

Staples = bad.

Paper clips, binder clips, easy to remove fasteners = good.

The submissions are going to be put into their format any way. Just be sure that you keep things connected together.

FWIW: I used paper clips and binder clips through out the journey from visa to naturalization.

Thanks Anh map :) From visa to naturalization - I imagine you've filled out your fair share of paperwork! Thanks for the good and proven advice.
