I'd like to file a formal request with moderation that all mod input and admonishment at least be in haiku form on this thread then.

I agree with this

All mods should embrace haiku

Comply with OP.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I found in a man

things I never knew of ME

Shared love of the ocean

the smell of the sea

He cared for my soul

then came the rest

Not seeing my face

I made it a test

We talked day and night

not knowing each other

Starting as friends

No thoughts of a lover

Our friendship showed me

many things of my worth

I learned of Islam

and my heart had rebirth

Having asked GOD for help

a time before

He brought us together

only NOW, I know what for

I have peace in my heart

and beauty from within

being loved by my man

shows assurance through my skin

The beauty outside

for sure will fade

No other can effect

the one inside...GOD made

WOW!! I love it!!! <3

To the two muses, WOM and Mithra

My treacherous lover

You shattered my heart

And for years made me wait for the day that we would be as one

I carried our dream inside of me only to lose him, as I floated into the abyss of grief

Burdened by love for you and the knowledge that if I loved you, I would remain beside you

You burdened me, you shamed me, my treacherous lover

Unfaithful not just in body but in soul as well

You scanned my very being looking for just about anything

Anything left you could take away from me

You took my birthright, my homeland and made me feel as if I stood naked in a field of lost dreams

But I knew what I must do towards the end

I would hand you what you wanted and then I would be released

Released from the grief of losing not one but two

And still you cannot see the depths of how much I loved you

How much I did without not only waiting for you but after you arrived

So now we listen to the sounds of Mimouna

Of ethereal violins that forever play

You might feel released of the responsibility to be kind to me

And yet some how I tower, I am the tower of Mansour

I am the kouba in the villiage

I became epic in my pain and I never lost sight

Of the shores of Normandy where my father bled at 19

Or my mothers innocence as she married my father

When Patsy Cline sang on am radios

I am in the wind when you walk and I am in the coffee you drink

I gave 6 years of my life for you and I know who I was

And somehow I know who I became

In some ways ,more American than I ever dreamed to be

I laid down my life for another, so that they might have what I was born with

And as I walk through the gardens of stone

And look out my car window at stone after stone

And flowers that just might never bloom again

I know who I was to you and who I now am to me

Forever together in one way or another

But no longer bitter

My treacherous , treacherous North African lover

There once was a man from Nantucket.

No, wait, that wasn't it.

There once was a man called big Z's

Women see him and fall to their knees

His arrogant words gathered angry women in herds

And now his string is obscure.

A new fight can start at this time

just make sure to keep it in rhyme

See how accommodating MENA women can be?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Night & Day

Day & Night

I was chatting online & found Mr Right

It was love at first smile

I hadn't had that in awhile

With his emoticons & I love you's

I couldn't stand not to do it too

So we planned on a date

to see each other would be great

I hopped on a plane

While peeps thought I was insane

For a love that was sure

And would forever endure

We became man & wife

Oh what a life

Only to come home

and be all alone

To wait for some time

I nearly lost my mind

It was all worth it in the end

to marry my best friend !

Not the best poem but I tried
