Best case scenario for K1 without RFE

What is the fastest processing time you guys ever heard from sending the I-129F package to interview date?

My fiancee is in Japan. I hired an lawyer to help us, they helped us put together the package, and doubled checked everything. I am glad I did higher a lawyer as both me and my fiancee made a lot of mistakes filing out the form. The lawyer spent a lot of with going back and forth with us and corrected all the mistakes before giving us the ok to sent in the I-129F package.

I am telling myself 6 to 9 month, but it is so hard not to wish it will be quicker especially considering how well our package was put together.

5/15/2012 Sent I-129F package

5/24/2012 Received NOA1

8/15/2012 NOA2

8/21/2012 NVC case number received

8/27/2012 Reached consulate/embassy in Japan

With no expedites, I've never seen faster than six months.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=121408

Faster than 6 months - no expedite. Now you've seen one. And it was by PURE chance (trust me I've already talked to him and asked. He did nothing out of the ordinary or anything special)

To the original poster - it's possible to go quicker, but it's pure 100% LUCK and 99 times out of 100 you will be waiting 6 months. 0.5 times out of 100 you'll get it as quick as the timeline I posted above. 0.5 times out of 100 you'll not get approved until 10 months.

It's all by chance, really. If there was a quicker way that existed, we would have all taken that route. My only advice is to get the paperwork 100% completed, then check again to make sure it's 100% correct, then send it off overnight mail so your wait can start sooner than later.

Our I-129F petition was approved 23 days after I received the NOA1. We slowed it down a bit after that because my husband needed some time before traveling to Juarez. So, we had a total of about 3 months from filing to interview with no expedite or RFE, but it could have been faster.

We were just lucky and Vermont was moving really quickly at the time we filed.

I see, so the worst case scenario should not be longer than 6 month I assume if no RFE and package is perfectly done.

Congrats to the couple that got their done is a little over 3 months. That is fastest one I have seen. I have seen a few cases that took ~4 months.

I just hope that I will not need to wait longer than 4 more months. My filing location was California, it is just 20 minutes from where I live. Package is so well put together that I shouldn't be too hard to go though all the packages. Everything is so straight forward. This is just my wishful thinking, I am just trying to stay encouraged.

You are setting yourself up for disappointment and heartache. You think 6 months is the worst it will be??? That is the fastest it will be.

You are not special, your case is not special. Your case will be average and take 6-10 months, just like everyone else's.

The petitions take a while not because they are poorly put together, but because there is a backlog. Each petition takes about 20 mins to process; the rest of the time is waiting in a box. The adjudicator has no way to know that your packet is "pretty" before they open it.

Really. You are being very unrealistic. Your fiance will not be in the US in 4 months. I'll bet the farm on that.

Do not hope for 4 months, there are very high chances that you will be disappointed. Now that your package is in CSC, it's going to collect dust for about 4-6 months before someone look at it, no matter how well you organized it. After this USCIS/I-129F petition step, it will be sent to NVC (add few more weeks), and then to your fiance's consulate for the K-1 visa application in itself (each country has their own timeframe, look at timelines from members of the same country as your fiance to have an idea).

The USCIS do not process petitions by how well they are organized or how straight-forward they are. Mine was too, and I waited 4.5 months before my petition was approved (without RFE).

I think they may have meant 4 months for just this step of the journey, not 4 months from start to finish. ^^; Still probably going to be disappointed though.

In regards to a well put together package, I have seen people say they got RFE's for documents and evidence they already included in their petition, so having everything put together well is no guarantee that USCIS won't lose something themselves...

I would agree with you, but the OP originally asked "from filing petition to interview date" and seems woefully uninformed about the whole process. :)

Thanks for the responds. It really helps me adjusting my expectation to more realistic level. I was hoping for not having to wait more than 6 months until interview date.

I use the interview date as the as a benchmark of finally getting close. It is not easy without a doubt.

I noticed the last time you updated your timeline was 2011. I hope and wish that you are at least past NOA2 at this point.

Sadly, no. My timeline is correct. I am still waiting for NOA2. )= This is why you should not form any expectations at this point. You're bound to be disappointed.
