Not sure where you get your stats from . . .

Our case was sent to CSC, we did the happy dance that we wouldnt have to do an interview for the AOS, but after a few months, we got notification that we were being re routed. Once the notification came, we had 30 days to prepare.

Just for FYI, we interviewed less than 10 minutes, were approved on the spot, and I had my greencard within a week.

Everyone is up for the OAS interview ... there is no rarity issue involved ... its just like getting your name picked out of a hat. It happens, all the time, it just may not be you that gets picked.

Agree with this. Ours was transferred to the CSC then transferred back to our local office for interview. The interview lasted 5 minutes, approved on the spot.

As far as I can tell, it is much closer to a 50/50 shot for having an interview than it being a rarity, which it is not.

K-1 AoS is always transferred to the CSC.

No, they are not.

When not adjusting from K-1 (so from any other nonimmigrant status; B-1, B-2, J-1, etc.) your AoS is processed at the NBC before being handed off to your local office for the interview and final adjudication.

ALL family based AOS cases, including those adjusting from a K-1, are sent to the NBC. From there they either transferred to the CSC or the applicant's local USCIS field office.

4-5 months waiting time is the general time frame. There are many however who are well over this time frame and have no approval or anything about the AOS.

We filed AOS last December 2011..and received a letter on March that it was transferred to CSC if i would receive my GC can I go out of the U.S? because we plan a trip to Barcelona as soon as I recieve my GC! I didn't file for AP...I would've filed for it..
