It may be a silly question but...

Just got an NOA for our AOS case, which stated it was transferred to CSC. I thought it would go to the local office. How long does it usually takes CSC to review the case and approve it?

K-1 AoS is always transferred to the CSC.

It usually takes around 4 months from filing until approval for K-1 I believe.

Will they then transfer it to local office for interview or if it went to CSC is approval with no interview? Not that I am worried about interview, just wondering.

K-1 AoS' rarely have an interview. I think it's theoretically possible but more likely that you will just receive approval in the mail with the GC to follow, since you have already been interviewed at the embassy.

It may be transferred back to your local office from the CSC for an interview, so the fact that it's at the CSC now is not a guarantee that you won't have one.

When not adjusting from K-1 (so from any other nonimmigrant status; B-1, B-2, J-1, etc.) your AoS is processed at the NBC before being handed off to your local office for the interview and final adjudication.

We are adjusting from a K-1 and the online case status says your case is being processed at the NBC location. Maybe it hasn't been transfered to CSC because she didn't have biometrics taken yet. unsure.gif

Ours was transferred after biometrics. So hang in there. It also took about 2 weeks from biometrics before it was transferred.

Biometrics does come first. They have to make sure they know who people are before they process anything.

Normally the EAD and travel document are processed at the NBC and then the AOS itself is transferred.

I think some people, that they dont have any questions, they transfer to California. But some, they have a doubt, they dont transfer to California.

My process was tranfered to California, and they said to be faster. But its not true. I filed the Aos in november and i didnt receive my green card yet. But some girls received his green card and sent very later of me, because they dont have their process transfered to California.

When the process was transfered we have to wait for 7, 9 months. :((((

Not sure where you get your stats from . . .

Our case was sent to CSC, we did the happy dance that we wouldnt have to do an interview for the AOS, but after a few months, we got notification that we were being re routed. Once the notification came, we had 30 days to prepare.

Just for FYI, we interviewed less than 10 minutes, were approved on the spot, and I had my greencard within a week.

Everyone is up for the OAS interview ... there is no rarity issue involved ... its just like getting your name picked out of a hat. It happens, all the time, it just may not be you that gets picked.

It currently takes more time at CSC. I'm a December filer and haven't gotten an update since it was transferred. Receiving EAD/AP makes it to where time goes by faster when actually having something else to do than sit around checking/waiting for updates. :)

... If you look here; http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?cfl=0&op1=2&op2=d&op3=&op4=31&op5=5,6,8,9,10,11&op6=&op8=All&xfr=1&vtype=1 you have to go back to around November before seeing a decision made on AOS. Only a few after that have been approved. If I got some time on my hands, I might call csc and ask how far along they've come with the processing.
